Fun, fun, fun! Someone from alt.usenet.kooks has set up a webpage
where you can search through the Kook Awards to find out what awards
your favorite kooks have won.
This is one of my favourites:
http://www.insurgent.org/~kook-faq/search.php?query=Hammond
Search Results
4 matches for "Hammond".
Kook of the Month, October 2004 George Hammond
Palmjob Paddle, July 2004 George Hammond
Victor von Frankenstein "Weird Science" Award, June 2004 George Hammond
72 Raisins "Crackpot Religion" Award George "SPOG" Hammond
Strangely, you didn't include it in your LITS.

PJR makes a good point! It is strange indeed that George Hammond, one
of the more prolific posters on sci.physics, and one who has already
been given several awards by the alt.usenet.kooks community, could
have been forgotten by all four of the sci.physics netcops, including
"Old Man,"

Van de Moortel,

Wormley,

and Stepp.

Given the sharp dichotomy between the posters called "kooks" by one
group and the posters called "crackpots," "cranks," and "trooks" by
the other, one is led to infer that the underlying motivation for the
two sets of lists is different. Given the nature of humanity, a not
unreasonable hypothesis about said difference would be that one list-
making group has a lot of axes to grind, and is motivated by their
own grudges, while the other group has other, less personal reasons.

Careful, you're starting to sound like a certain other poster in these
parts. Get the line length a little shorter, talk about "folks" and
throw in a few more scare quotes around people's names, and you'll have
it spot on ;-)
