Reversing Light With Negative Refraction |

Materials engineered to have negative permittivity
and permeability demonstrate exotic behavior, from
a negative refractive index to subwavelength focusing.

A beautiful and humbling exposition.

Ed,
I too enjoyed reading the article, however past life choices have
resulted in my not being able to entirely understand the content.
Do you think the efforts referred to in the article will result in a
lens/reflective surface one could toss into a telecine chain to flip
colour negative images to positve?
Telecine Chain:

Projector-------->\ Front-surfaced mirror

--- Field lens

You were kind enough to correspond with me on this topic awhile back
in the thread, "Light Pipe Dream". Unfortunately my knowledge
restricts me to experimentation only, without necessarily knowing
*why* things work (when they do). WRT crass commercial inquiries on an
NG devoted to learning; the telecine is used 95% for my own films, and
is not a business. Kodak has (incredibly) introduced two new neg.
stocks in Super8, and I want to play with them. Labs in my area are
not currently offering a quality neg. to pos. x-fer of Super8.
Anyway, hope your doin' great!
Mitch
