I am interested in the historical TRUTH,

your attempt to establish Hilbert as the true author of general
relativity is
laughable.
JS: I concur with Paul.
K: Frankly, the history of SR is even more shocking, it was not Einstein's
work
at all, and the famous Einstein equation E = Mc˛ was not Einstein's.
PZ: Technically, it is true that the *equation* E=Mc^2 was not published
first by
Einstein; however, this equation had a very different meaning in SR. There
was no "deep thinking" behind the original E=Mc^2 before Einstein's papers
appeared.
JS: Paul who wrote "E = mc^2" before Einstein? In what context?
K: Yet everybody keeps on talking about EINSTEINS's relativity theory,
while the discussion about relativity already existed for decades before
Einstein's (Maric's ???????) papers.
PZ: There is some truth in this, of course, but Einstein's theory of special
relativity was original in its details and physical arguments. It was
uniquely
Einsteinian.
It is this that is referred to as "Einstein's theory" -- which it was.
K: Who is not paying attention here?
PZ: Look, I know about all this.
I know about Mach and Poincare. I know about Voight. I know about Fitzgerald
and Lorentz. I know about Minkowski. I know about Gauss, Riemann, Ricci,
and Levi-Civita. And I know about Hilbert.
Einstein's theories were still Einstein's theories.
