Object: spamming is not freedom of speech but a form of attacking other people; Re: National No Email list like No Call List
It should never be the case in human society where social interactions
favor those that attack other people and where innocent people can
never mount a
defense against the attacks. That is why humanity has a legal system
and laws
because forms of attack are antisocial and are crimes. The difference
between
murder and rape and assault and arson and embezzlement and stealing
are all
forms of attack. And they are all crimes. Spamming of spewing out bulk
emails
is not freedom of speech but a form of attack, albeit a milder form of
attack
than stealing. But a spammer steals the time and patience and
happiness of perhaps thousands and millions of people throughout the
world each and every
day.
I keep harping how the USA Congress has let down the people of the
USA. And they
have and they have failed us miserably on the issue of spam
legislation. Congress
should not be worried about getting a proper definition of spam or
trying to
form a perfect law. In this problem speed is top concern. Just get any
law enacted that deals with spam and we can adjust the law later so as
to make it
better. But just get a law up and running.
The issue of email spam is one where seldom in human social
interactions do we
see a form of behaviour where the attackers have such free reign over
the mass
of private citizens and the ability to defend themselves against spam.
Where a
few people cost the time and energy and money and happiness of
millions. Where
a few people turn all the rest of humanity into victims. Computers
across the USA
and world have experienced spam for 13 years now and it is getting
worse and worse by the year, and the puzzle is why has not the
Congress of USA or the President done a stitch about this problem.
If I were congress, today is Saturday night and by Monday noon of next
week
I would have a law against spamming enacted, ready for the president
to sign
or veto by Monday noontime. Congress can hem and haw about health care
legislation or social security or tax laws, but on the issue of Spam
legislation,
Congress should have passed that bill some 5 years ago. Our congress
is so lazy
that they are 5 years behind the times of what they should be doing.

Oh, poor baby. boo hoo. So it takes me 2 seconds to scan my email
headers and delete the ones I don't want to see.
Grow up. You sound like one of those whiners who wants Uncle Sugardaddy
to take care of you and protect you from everything you don't like.
Shudder! If that happens then there won't be anything but what Uncle
Sugardaddy likes, and I wouldn't like that, because he doesn't like a lot
of the stuff that I do like.
Don't like spam? Don't get an email account.
Cheers!
