For the benefit of those who don't know how to block
cookies and pop-ups, I changed from Nedstat (Webstats4u)
to www.statcounter.com .
As soon as they start getting annoying, they're out.

Yes, someone sent me an email telling me that my
webcounter uses pop-ups on a more or less random
basis.
Since I use the Google pop-up blocker, I never
really noticed.
This is not spyware or tracking ware. Learn the
difference before you panic.
I have asked the webcounter provider to stop doing
this, but I doubt they will. After all, it's free and they
have to make a living somehow :-)
Use a pop-up blocker and you won't get disturbed
again. Or stay away from the site altogether.
