Ok. I'll stop trying to hide my collosal ignorance under a few fig
leaves of learning [insert obligatory insults from fools here], and
instead will parade it under new clothes ... or something.
Anyway, I'm trying to understand the vector potential A, and here are
some proto-speculo-guesswork-groks, presented for annihilation and
correction:
* there is a 3-vector potential, and a 4-vector potential
* the 3-vector potential recovers solely the magnetic field B = curl
A, whereas the 4-vector potential recovers the whole gosh-darn field
via something which looks something like the curl, but isn't
* the something which looks like the curl but isn't is a result of
applying the four version of del via something which looks like the
cross product but isn't
.
