Strange Quark Matter |
Hi.
I have a little question: What would a block of the
theorized 'strange quark matter' (matter made up
entirely of strange quarks) look like?

We should have a town named Alderaan
someday. No, seriously. Let's put it on
the table.

Green, slightly wrinkled, very small.

I love ya man...but you SURE set yourself up for one whopper insult on your
"manhood" there......
I'll be kind enough to not actually throw the punch....but if I was you Id buy
a virtual atheletic cup NOW!
Hows the diamond and/or chiralty bizz going these days?
take care

The first of three parity Eotvos experiments is in progress in
Mainland China. Second one kicks off New Years, third one is complete
Summer 2005. If the current one nulls it's 100% A-OK. The second run
is the critical run, the third another check. The last Canadian Xeon
cluster run will add about 370 points on the far right to
http://www.mazepath.com/uncleal/qzdense.png
by tomorrow or Wednesday. The paper, an edited and updated version of
http://www.mazepath.com/uncleal/qz.pdf
will be submitted to a top tier scholarly journal by this Friday.
Graphing log(1-CHI)/log-radius vs. log(radius) was very instructive.
gnuplot substantially expanded the vertical scale to afford a good
look at sampling density vs. log(radius). There is no sampling bias.
The chemical synthesis of bulk diamond has all equipment and
consumables in hand. The internal insulation corrosion problem with
the reactor was cleanly walked around; the large bore tube coupling
that seized at high temp is no longer there. Next and last shot is
scheduled for Spring 2005 after the local rains quit.
Theory isn't nearly as much fun as experiment. Uncle Al likes to hear
the "ping!" of distant shrapnel.

Glad to hear things are going well Al!
The only thing Ive been doing the past 2 months is cleaning up from hurricane
IVAN.....ugh...but at least now I'm pretty damn handy with a chainsaw!
And I am reminded of a great sig line I saw on the internet many moons ago...
"In theory there is no difference between theory and practice.....but in
practice there is"
take care

Naw, he claims they're big brass ones, not strange quark
matter. ;>)

Curious myself. Last I heard everything was in the
pipeline, but crap always crops up...

Invisible. You forgot to add leptons.
