The activists should have been shot for trespassing.

The activists responsible for the American Revolution were traitors
in the eyes of the British government, who "owned" the stolen land at
the time. If these activists weren't in jail, they were trespassing,
and they were shot. Get working on that time machine so you can go
back and join in the fun.
Meanwhile, life these days doesn't seem to fit your little box of a

least you get to shoot your mouth off here.
Cheers,

Lack of sleep has been shown to reduce intelligence. Maybe you

So then to avoid spoiling the broth, one should employ zero cooks?
The words "too many" imply a level below which "interference" is
beneficial.
Based on your statement I'm asking you to put a number on that cap.
In your equation, does Y equal:
the *most* natural selection
OR
the most *natural* selection?
I left it open to interpretation because you seem to be making a
value judgement wrt the type of person you see as interfering, i.e.
the activists. So based on your statement I'm asking you what
particular type of selection you deem most natural.
Intuitively, genetically modifying stuff seems the opposite of
natural selection. However it could be argued that whatever happens,
including all human action, is "natural". So if activists eliminate
all genetically modified foodstuffs from the planet, that's natural
selection.
IMHO one of "our" biggest problems is regarding human life as cheap;
your collegues and you are engaging in a dialogue innapropriate for

young people losing their lives for nothing these days that you might

No. Your conclusion is nosequitorious. One should have zero people

Yes. The number is one. One is too many.

It's unclear what you're trying to convey with the asterisks.

Y refers to the former.

You seem to misunderstand some common terms. 'Natural' refers to

or absent.

No. Your conclusion

I'll put in *two* question marks next time.

is nosequitorious.

I have little or no reason to quit my nose in *any* fashion. ($25
typos are fair game - my new rule.)

One should have zero people interfering with the cook.

Head chef? Restaurant owner? What if the cook feels like cooking
something you didn't order? What if the cook just says "hey!" and goes
bowling?

The words "too many" imply a level below which "interference" is
beneficial.

Yes. The number is one. One is too many.

And so finally we arrive. If one is too many then *any* is too many
and so:
"One of our biggest problems is people interfering with natural
selection."
Boioioioioioing!

Based on your statement I'm asking you to put a number on that cap.
In your equation, does Y equal:
the *most* natural selection

It's unclear what you're trying to convey with the asterisks.

Y refers to the former.

Parentheses in keeping with the expression of an idea in the form of
a physics equation. Duly noted. Thank you.

processes not invented by humans. 'Natural selection', is the natural

I seem to misunderstand lots of stuff. Everybody does. Natural is a
sticky word though. If you look it up in the dictionary, and you're
satisfied, that's nice. Mine says: "1) Existing in or caused by
nature; not artificial." That's me! ( "...natural philosopher
[archaic] a physicist"). What's the difference between a beaver's dam
and the Brooklyn Bridge? Do you think there are any human traits that
reduce survivability which have become dominant?

IMHO one of "our" biggest problems is regarding human life as cheap;
your collegues and you are engaging in a dialogue innapropriate for
educated adults in an international forum.

You have a goofy concept of propriety.

Go to the OP. Hit the link. Look at that girl all happy about doin'
something she thinks is just *great*. Uh-oh! Maybe it's a dumb thing!
Maybe not. Does she remind you of your daughter? Somebody else's?
Wanna talk to her and maybe straighten her out, or miracle of
miracles, find out something you didn't know? Nah, just fire off a
coupla rounds. Simple as that. You are, that is. Did Feynman talk
about shooting people? You're supposed to be *smart*. That means you
*think*. Maybe there are some impressionable young people who have a
budding interest in physics here. They might not grok on to the
scared-old-white-man-in-a-changing-world-he-has-no-control-over need
to appear extra macho. All they see is a bunch of scientists talking
about shooting a woman who's exercising her right to free speech.
Meanwhile they just learned that freedom of speech is what the whole
thing's about! Chortle over murder in private.

Are there not enough bright
young people losing their lives for nothing these days that you might
refrain from proposing to add to the total?

Like most liberals,

Whoa, there mister! Liberal is an amount of mayonnaise. There's
people who care about others and people who care about themselves. The
rest is to take our minds off the fact we don't have a clue.

you degenerate into dishonesty. Your statement is

Glad to see we agree that the number is real.

Apparently the ship (a loader) was going to take on
natural soybeans, having already in its hold 30,000 tons
of genetically altered ones. Presumably they were worried
about the contamination of the soybeans, so loading the
activists on board and burying them in soybeans would
probably be a very bad thing for the soybean crop --
not to mention the activists and political issues in general.
Color me slightly puzzled but there may not be that much of
a market for modified soy outside of the US, if the FDA
requires all products containing such be clearly labeled.
(I don't think the FDA requires that *now*, but I think
Greenpeace would like it that way.)

Cheers,
Tony.

Politics aside, hanging from the loading booms, they seem to have
wanted to be loaded into the ship. Along with 10,000 tons of
soybeans, it should not have been a problem.

An understandable fear, let us use science to investigate.
Let us assume metric tons, (not much different from the
Long Ton, 2,200 lbs. often used in shipping) and 4, 75 kg
activists volunteering for the experiment.
40,000 tons = 4,000,000 kg soybeans.
4 * 75 kg = 300 kg activists.
300/40,000,000 * (100%) = 0.00075% activist
and 99.99925% soybean. This is well above the environmental
activist benchmark of 99 44/100 % purity for a wholesome
natural product. So we see that the fear is unfounded on
analytical grounds, and produces a result which is acceptable
to all.
I can, however, understand how having an activist pop out of
a load of soybeans unexpectedly at a marketplace could have some
negative political impact. I would note that if the soybeans were
destined for processing, into oil or tofu perhaps, that concern
would be eliminated as well.
Cheers,
Tony.

You should see them over a load chicken .
Go see a brazil chicken plantation.
No human ever sees the bird till its quarters.
the worlds second chicken producer.
pc automated 5 million bird houses.
greenpice idiots freek out in them.
heads come off when the cages exit like a train to the cleaning house.
Greenpice climbed my trees ,,I sent them up a bag o nuts. Cut the
trees next to them down.
Got my gun out an shot and ate the wild turkey. Told them if they waz
camping on my plantaion they must plant trees and must put up with me
camping with them .
I would bet for one joint and a plate of greens she would get off the
loader.
