How Long Will Siberia's Gas Last?
By Christian Wüst

Europe depends on Russia for its natural gas, but, as Gazprom begins
production at the last major field, it is unclear how much gas is left
in Siberia. Developed fields are almost exhausted, and tapping new
reserves involves huge technical difficulties...

Demand for energy is growing, both domestically and abroad, and
Russian energy forecasters predict Siberia will satisfy that demand...
http://www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,524140,00.html

The Russian energy giant Gazprom expects production volume to increase
until 2030 when, according to its predictions, a peak level of well
over 800 billion cubic meters a year will have been reached. It's been
also emphasized that the country will be able to maintain a very high
level of production for another 30 years after that.

I have heard nothing but accolades from you about him. He seems as if s
been a good teacher as well.

I assume based on the Wikipedia entry I saw that he mostly speaks about
religion?

We would need no religion at all, nowadays. He says: life ends
(metaphorically expressed) at the tombstone. His approach is strictly
based on the natural sciences and moreover, in a new way,
philosophically interpreted.

There's a fascinating controversy going on in the Republican slate now.
The campaigners have let forth all their advertising. There was something
of a spat between Huckabee and Romney. Huckabee has shot way ahead and
hasn't raised much money for his campaign. He has only spent about 3
million. Romney has spent quite a bit more. Romney let loose a spate of
ads attacking Huckabee. Huckabee meantime prepared an ad that answered
Romney in a way that got him even more poll points.

Romney you may remeber is a Mormon. Huckabee a former preacher and former
Arkansas governor (like Clinton). Huckabee is a newly reformed Christian
who has accepted the evangelical word.

THere's a huge controversy in the US about the extent to which government
and religion may mix and the extent to which the constitution plays a part
in regulating the separation of church and state. As the US is more
constantly populated by non Christians, there are more and more objections
to a government sponsored Christmas holiday and to people saying Merry
Christmas instead of Happy Holidays.

Huckabee confronted Romney saying, can't we just wish each other Merry
Christmas. Romney launched the attack ad.

Huckabee launched his ad wherein he did nothing more than wish people
Merry Xmas. HOWEVER, the next day the controversy erupted. Huckabee was
positioned in front of a bookcase. A tannenbaum on the left. The camera
panned from right to left. But the panning had him merging with the + in
the bookcase. The + was highly illuminated. Making it suspicious for a
Christian subliminal message. After being accused, he just laughed it
off. He said that also, if you play the ad backward, it will say, Paul is
dead. Obviously, that would mean that Ron Paul's campaign is dead as he is
just nearly last. In the meantime, the clever Huckabee got so much free
advertising out of this stunt it is unbelievable. People are debating all
sorts of things including whether or not he should use Christian
symbolism so very blatantly for politics rather than religion.

In the meantime, Romney fell very far in the polls. Giuliani who made his
own bizarre tasteless weird Christmas campaign ad is all but forgotten.

Hillary also made an ad where she pretended to give the US the gift of
universal health care. Also as unpleasant as Rudy's message.

The campaign has taken a weird turn. There's a differential poll they do
as well. Apparently even Huckabee couldn't beat Obama today.

. Predictability

The Putin thing was entirely predictable, wasn't it?

Yeah, we had prognosticated it this way, lately...

. Putin

I'm afraid I'm not as impressed with Putin as others. He just was voted
man
of the year by Time.

Possibly to the dismay of the Republicans in the US.

. Gen. Petraeus

EDITORIAL EXEGESIS

"Time magazine hasn't announced its pick for 'man of the year' yet, but
we
certainly know ours: Gen. David Petraeus, commander of the multinational
force
in Iraq and architect of the surge strategy that is turning the tide in
the
war. Petraeus formulated a brilliant counterinsurgency plan. He executed
it
with care and diligence. And when much of the country didn't want to
notice
the security gains that the surge had wrought, he took the national media
spotlight to defend his strategy and his honor. In all this, he was
nothing
less than masterly. When Petraues testified on Capitol Hill in early
September,
much of the media and the Left simply refused to believe that violence in
Iraq was down... And the day Petraeus's testimony began, MoveOn.org ran
its
infamous 'General Petraeus or General Betray Us?' ad. It said that 'every
independent report on the ground situation in Iraq shows that the surge
strategy has failed'; that Petraeus 'is constantly at war with the
facts';
and that the general 'is cooking the books for the White House.'...
Hillary
Rodham Clinton stopped just short of calling him a liar, saying that to
believe his report required 'a willing suspension of disbelief.' Less
than a month later, however, Petraeus's critics had been effectively
silenced... That the surge has worked is no longer up for debate. On a
trip to Iraq the week after Thanksgiving, even John Murtha stated flatly,
'I think the surge is working.'... That Petraeus has achieved so much in
such
a short time despite the frustrations of Iraqi politics is a testament to
his
skill as a strategist and a leader of men. For making victory in Iraq
look
possible again, and for pulling a nation back from the brink of civil
war,
Petraeus deserves the praise and thanks of all Americans. With or without
a Time cover, he is the man of the year." ---National Review

Dollars in the common treasury are like fish in the common sea -
anyone who can will harvest to extinction. That is why socialism is
fundamentally corrupting and can not work.

Well, intelligent people don't give a ***** what you think socialism is
or isn't, to intelligent people, socialism is just a string of letters.

Associated with a political concept or three, which you apparently you
don't give a ***** about, as well.

Science is like that.

1) Doesn't adress the point.

There is no point to politics, except to waste money and time.

2) Since when have you been a representative of science?

Since I started doing it, and publishing my results.

Sociopathic ranting does not count as "results" in my book or in any

That's the run of the mill usenet. I've experimented a little with
usenet science, as have most of my credible colleagues here. Not you.
Are you familiar with my Meghar Scale of planetary mass classification?
I'm a kingmaker in that respect. I bestow immortality on people, or at
least their names. The usenet abounds with that sort of thing, though.
Willie R. Meghar gets immortalized, as well he should be, and I get a
really cool planetary mass classification outta the deal, so we're even.

Your answer to #1 actually shows some insight on your part, though.

The rational and utilitarian part, no doubt.

Tomorrow. January 22, 2008, a day that will live in infamy.

One of many in the catastrophic Bush administration.

Earth sheltered homes, my friends, earth shelter.

Tomorrow, I shall have more insights for you.

I agree that we're getting summarily screwed by our own kind. A -10%
market reset may be only the sooty tip of our AGW iceberg that's about
to turn bottoms up and finish melting entirely before our dumbfounded
eyes. As you say "The American Dumbfuckathon Rolls On!"
I also 100% agree that well insulated homes, factories and especially
of our public institutions need to get energy efficient, as well as
becoming as fire-proof as can be accommodated without our having to
introduce complex synthetic products that require so freaking much
energy to create, distribute and install, only then having to be
continually protected from too much heat and water at the same time.
I have offered at least one composite product solution that should
work rather nicely on behalf of accommodating such structural and
insulation benefits.
There's also workable energy alternatives for our private
transportation that'll produce the least amount of CO2 per passenger
mile, and even those options on behalf of offering zero NOx per
passenger mile, while otherwise getting us the absolute most empg from
whatever fossil/synfuel.
There is no shortage of renewable and clean energy for accomplishing
this phase of achieving our next goal, of our surviving upon Earth as
based upon a minimal of fossil fuel consumption.
Obviously our insights are rather pointless because, the mainstream
status quo of those puppeteers in charge of our private parts and of
our spare loot just keeps rolling everything along, even if they're
having to roll entirely over innocent folks that so happen to be
sitting on top of their own oil.
At some point in the near future, clean energy alternatives as created
by the likes of Warren Buffett, William Mook and myself are going to
become the norm because, big-energy as we know it simply isn't going
to have enough of our blood and guts in order to go forth on behalf of
sustaining their WWIII method of global energy domination over the
remaining coal, oil, natural gas or even affordable yellowcake
reserves.
BTW, how about our doing a "closed ecological life support system" on
behalf of a few sufficiently smart folks surviving upon Venus?
If not Venus, then how about a POOF City at Venus L2, or simply
surviving within our moon, or of at the very least accomplishing
'Clarke Station' at the moon's L1 ???

Sure energy efficiency is great. Hey, curly cue lightbulbs cut my
electric bill in HALF. That means that's half the coal being burnt to
power my house. Screw CO2 *****. That is lies. But half the
mercury, half the acid rain, half the other nasty stuff burnt coal

There's also workable energy alternatives for our private

High milage makes total sense with a limited resource like oil. Again
the problem is NOT CO2, the problem is wasting a valuable resource
that is irreplaceable. Running transportation is one thing but
heating homes and making electricity with it is criminal. Don't you
know that oil is needed to grow FOOD? That's it, waste oil and STARVE

other nice things that come from oil.

There is no shortage of renewable and clean energy for accomplishing
this phase of achieving our next goal, of our surviving upon Earth as

This statement is a total lie! It's a typical liberal "I never look
at quantity" argument. Only gas and coal have a prayer of replacing
oil as an energy source. All the rest is pure political *****.
Example: Alcohol from corn to power cars. Truth: it takes more oil to
generate a gallon of alcohol than if you simply burned the oil in a
car! And you have the added benefit of all that stupid waste to make
everyone "feel good" of raising food prices through the roof! This is
what happens when people who rule by slogan and don't understand that
quantity matters are given a free hand.

I never said that all Jews were smarter than the rest of us village
idiots.
However, a few of those physics and science smart and of global
banking smart Jews did make their warlord Hitler puppet a very happy
camper for a good decade worth of having created hell on Earth. Now
their puppet GW Bush is picking up the global energy domination slack
where Hitler left off.
