The General Relativity gang are circling the wagons. |
As can be seen by their intensity and their methods,
the small gang that profits from General Relativity
is very concerned that the public is becoming aware of
the costs to society of General Relativity.
No doubt, General Relativity is the model of choice,
if one wants to design a time travel machine,
or warp through space machine,
or create worm holes,
or speculate on things beyond man's
capacity to ever experience in time and space,
BUT
if one wants to design things like computers, bridges, mechanisms,
engines,
communications systems and *** GPS Systems ***,
General Relativity is an enormous waste of time, money and resources.
Although any competent systems engineer KNOWS that
General Relativity is not, and was not, essential to the GPS system,
the same small gang that profits
in reputation and income from General Relativity
constantly make such a claim.

"GTR isn't working in the GPS": this simply isn't so; see these

Introducing Relativity in Global Navigation Satellite Systems
Authors: J.-F. Pascual-Sanchez
(Submitted on 28 Jul 2005 (v1), last revised 13 Dec 2006 (this
version, v3))
Abstract: Today, the Global Navigation Satellite Systems, used as
global positioning systems, are the GPS and the GLONASS. They are
based on a Newtonian model and hence they are only operative when
several relativistic effects are taken into account. The most
important relativistic effects (to order 1/c^2) are: the Einstein
gravitational blue shift effect of the satellite clock frequency
(Equivalence Principle of General Relativity) and the Doppler red
shift of second order,
due to the motion of the satellite (Special Relativity).
http://relativity.livingreviews.org/Articles/lrr-2003-1/index.html
The Global Positioning System (GPS) uses accurate, stable atomic
clocks in satellites and on the ground to provide world-wide position
and time determination. These clocks have gravitational and motional
frequency shifts which are so large that, without carefully accounting
for numerous relativistic effects, the system would not work.
Note that the GTR charlatans constantly try to con the masses into
thinking
that the effects of distance (Hubble Effect),
velocity (Doppler Effect),
and acceleration (Galileo Effect)
on the frequency of oscillating systems,
are General Relativity effects.
So far, I haven't seen any effort on their part
to claim the GTR must be used to compensate for
temperature, humidity, jerk, snap, crackle and pop effects.
As can be see from reading Chris Hillman's web site,
he aggressively attacks General Relative critics PERSONALLY,
rather than simply demonstrate a few cost effective uses of GTR.
One would think that if the GTR promoters possessed
such powerful, esoteric knowledge, that they would use their
knowledge to make a few billion dollars in the free market,
and they would not have be on the taxpayer's dole.
Note that in trying to discredit GTR critics,
Chris Hillman used the word "crank" more than thirty times,
and used the Web site of an unemployed computer programmer,
who took some data processing classes at a third rate California
college,
as his main reference.
Regarding Chris Hillman's statement:
========================
"The Politics of Anti-Science
In my view, antiscientific activity by organized political pressure
groups has nothing to do with science or reason.
Rather, such activity is motivated by power and fear.
Fear:
On the one hand, some people fear (sometimes correctly, often not)
that science is somehow directly "contradicting"
the validity of their religious or philosophical convictions, and this
has led some religious groups
to condemn such cornerstones of modern science as the theory of
evolution
and the standard Hot Big Bang model of cosmology,
preferring to stick to the literal truth of the creation story told in
the Bible,
or in more subtle ways to dispute the role of science as an arbiter of
"natural truth".
Power:
Science is universally respected, even by those who fear it, and with
good reason:
almost every citizen of the "developed world" recognizes
that nowadays common citizens live better than kings of old
because of the benefits of technology which grew out of basic
scientific research.
Scientists (and mathematicians) have almost become secular demigods,
and it should be no surprise that those religious and political
groups
which are hostile to science but which do not dare to condemn
scientific activity altogether,
have tried to co-opt scientific theories by claiming that these
theories
somehow "prove" the validity of their religious or political beliefs.
=============
As can be seen by the logical fallacies used by Chris Hillman
in his efforts to discredit GTR critics,
the GTR gang is motivated by "power and fear"
(And the taxpayer's money),
and although "Science is universally respected",
charlatans who pretend to possess powerful, esoteric knowledge
and cannot demonstrate this in the free market,
ARE NOT.
After Newton's model,
there were immediate and rapid advances
in mechanics, astronomy, etc.
After Maxwell's model
there were immediate and rapid advances
in chemistry, electricity, etc.
After Watson's and Crick's DNA model
there were immediate and rapid advances
in medicine, genetics, animal husbandry,
the history of the Earth and Mankind, etc.
Here we are, 100 years after General Relativity
and it continues to generate more hype and heat
than light and advances.
General Relativity is a Tower of Babel
that wastes time, money and minds on such
pursuits as time travel, worm holes, gravity waves,
rubber rulers and clocks, etc.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste."

evry year 40,000 poles is 150 acres.
At the edge of the last cut 4 years ago.

ff spruce hybirds.
Most of the 30,000 has never been cut.

Nonsense. Only 12 cords per acre, only 35% hardwoods.

a cord is 1000 bf ..only a 19 inch stump counts .
You cant count a 10 inch stump in a cord.
Inspect it and count evry stick.
take a full inventory.
You see in the pic..it was 4 years after clearcut . The young trees are
just 6 feet tall.
The forest in the background is a 12 cord stand.
Thats what a 12-14 cord stand looks like.
In 15 years the fraser fir spruce hybirds will be a 10-12 cord stand .

All the animals will eat well in the clear aria for awile then move to
te next patch when the new trees come up.
I dont pic the best trees ,,I pick the sick patches and sell them so
the forest is better off and my new hybirds grow so quick and tall it
looks like a corn field with row trees.

Dr. Tao logs " First Nation " land in The Tongass area, Randy_Poe.
He uses 5 ships, docked in Seattle, 10 crew per ship.
The crew live in the Seattle area.
They don't use roads, they lay rails from shore to the forest,
taking everything back with them when they leave.
The crew came from Maine and have been with him for 15 years now.
They make 100 kilodollars for 2 months work ( I think ),
each of their children gets a new car when they turn 16.
They get huge bonuses too, 25 kilodollars, I think.
He digests the logs using something like a " sonic welder "
and up to 1,500 p.s.i. ( from a Doble boiler ),
popping the pressure after 10 minutes.
It also makes ultra fluffy pop corn, just to give you an idea.
Logs breathe, they have air-flow.
The cookers have 15 inch thick doors and 70 ton capacities,
and cost 5 megadollars each. Dr. Tao helped design them.
With the pressure release, the now-soft logs are ejected
into a spinning grader. At 650 degrees F, they make the water boil.
Only a tiny amout of bleach is needed, you could drink the water.
It's " E.P.A. Golden Star " rated.

OK, I'll be more explicit. There are mental illnesses that do
involve delusions. The people suffering from these illnesses
believe those delusions. Yet even if they tell you those things,
that does not make them real. Even if they say them really,
really sincerely. Such a person is unable to distinguish their
delusions from what we call "reality". They are having "experiences"
which are not part of the common "reality" most of us share.
And they are very "real".
Such a person might say, oh, that they were the owner
of Toyota, or a fleet of ships. They might tell you they live
at sea, or on the moon. They might describe to you their
day at Toyota in great detail. They might read a newspaper
article about the president of Toyota and tell you about
a breakfast they had with him (maybe on their ships) in
all sincerity.
But none of that sincerity makes it real.
A few people on Usenet make claims that sound like that,
at least at first glance;
Or on extended glances.
I really find it hard to believe you've never encountered a
mentally ill person among the homeless you know.

I've talked about my VC++ 8.0 code constantly, for years,

I was once a Mormon missionary, Randy.

My dad died two years ago, at age 80.
He too held that kind of innocence, it was charming really.

But, besides being a big push-over like me, he was no fool.

So, Randy, was my dad deluded ? who isn't deluded ?

" This life is a test. ", he'd say, " and I'm going to pass it. "
and " Does the caterpillar know he'll become Monarch butterfly ? ".
But, besides being a big push-over like me, he was no fool.
" My houses aren't worth more, " he'd say,
" my money is just worth less. ".
So, Randy, was my dad deluded ? who isn't deluded ?

I know that because I've put in the effort to _ Understand _ .
If Bill Gates wanted to have a good time here, talking *****,
we wouldn't use his real name... The press would have a hay day.
I don't immediately dismiss Dr. Tao just because I'm too " stupid " to
understand him, you shouldn't either, Randy.
Dr. Tao talks about ***** we don't understand... So what ?
I've talked about my VC++ 8.0 code constantly, for years,
and I've yet to meet anyone who could _ Run _ any of it,
much less compile it... much, much less improve it.
I was once a Mormon missionary, Randy.
You know, where Joseph Smith claimed to have translated
" The Golden Plates " given to him by the Biblical God,
resulting in " The Book of Mormon ",
a.k.a. " Another Testament of Jesus Christ ".
http://WikiPedia.ORG/wiki/Book_of_Mormon
At the time, my thinking was:
" No one would make such claims if it wasn't true. "
and " If God isn't our Heavenly Father our lives are pointless. ".
Some are.
J_effR_elf's for example.
Today I think Joseph Smith was a product of his era,
just as we all are... A now mostly-gone period of innocence.
Even to this day, my 80 year old mom is innocent like that.

No Your wrong THE buyer and evry buyer secures his money with the trade
bank.
IRS rules on buying...idiot. Pay yer taxes .
1200 buck maple is not top buck dumbass.
What banks talk to you ??
Forest producs is the idia if your selling logs moron.
Tell me what my crontract rules are stupid !
I said the buyer dose what the buyer wants...
you said no he dose what makes him the most money .. !! Under market
price and 1/2 down is the best deal ...ask him.
ASK the buyer and prove it moron.

BS. Buyer does what suits his profit line the best. That does not
include becoming your investment banker at no fee. Any that actually try
something like that don't last in business very long.
I dont load the boat till I got my money.
You buy or sell stumpage at the forest unless you are in the timbering
business and/or cartage which means you have to own or lease the
machinery, do payroll, insurance, all the business related functions.
Buyer wants to secure money at trade bank.
Buyer depends on his corporation scheduling income and payments to
minimize the loans his firm has to take in the course of his business.
Or Buyer want contact .
I assume you mean contract. With penalty clauses. if you don't perform
quantity, quality, and delivery schedule. If you fail in any of these
he's sitting on money he could and should have spent elsewhere.
Buyer dont save $200 ton and cant fill orders if he dont buy .
Buyer contracts to buy. See IRS rules.
I got a fall color pic of the forest and see 125000 maples on 1 hill.
=A0=A0From which you can't tell anything about quality, size, or age.
30,000 acres 35 % maples.
=A0=A0From which you can't tell anything about quality, size, or age.
YOUR a fucking loon if you think the trade bank wont ...you best read
the banks page fool .
I don't read web pages, I *talk* to banks. You dream about talking to
banks. I don't think they talk to you.
YOU best ask the buyers and see if they will contract for under market
price.
Buyer does on site inspection before he talks very much.
DONT tell me what market price is AFTER I posted the world market
prices.
You posted nonsense once again. Birdseye brings top dollar. Logs range
all the way down to pulp. Any tree that's been tapped to make syrup is
destined to become pulp or firewood. Those have yet again their own
price structures. You'd like to make believe every tree is worth top
dollar.
Yer a idjet.
why would you quote birdseye maples when we're counting red maples ?

Unless it's a commodity, e.g., Christmas trees.
The region where I live ships Christmas trees in bulk to
Chicago and southern Wisconsin. Our local prices are
1/5 of what the same trees fetch in Chicago or Milwaukee,
and there's only 1 store in our local "city" selling them.
(Next nearest point of sale is the next town over, some
15 miles away.)
That price difference isn't in the shipping.
Those who can't afford to buy a tree are apt to take a ride
and a walk in the woods with a $2 bow saw and get their own.
The place is filthy with volunteer trees.
"HEY! What are you doing over there?"
"Getting a Christmas tree."
"Oh good, they need thinning out. Can I talk you
into taking two?"
