The physics of uncontrolled flight |
These senators promised last fall when they stripped similar language
out of the 9/11 Commission Bill that they would, as they put it,
revisit this issue in the spring. That is now. Now it's time to
revisit. Yet in their letter to Senator Frist they say the Real I.D.
Act would make major shifts in immigration and asylum policy. Somehow,
to the ordinary American denying a license to an illegal alien and the
unknown terrorists among them is not a major shift in immigration
policy nor would it be a major shift in policy to end the legislation
-- end the law which currently says that mere membership in a terrorist
organization is not sufficient grounds for the State Department to deny
a visa.
