Object: Thermal radiation of molten iron
Anybody know where I can find information on the characteristics of molten
iron which determine its appearance? I am interested in such properties as
its radiation profile as a function of wavelength in the visible spectrum,
emissivity, reflectance, absorptivity, index of refraction and particularly
how it varies with wavelength, the significance of iron's magnetic
permeability in solutions to Maxwell's equations - especially in relation
to the other characteristics in question, etc. I am looking for both
heuristic and rigorous treatments of the subject.
