Useful definition of heat diffusion "velocity"? |
Hi,
is there a sensible way to define a velocity of heat diffusion so that one
can estimate how long it takes to heat up things over some transfer medium?

Yes: (C)onducrivity of heat. dE / dt = Area * C * ( dT / dx )

Get velocity, v, from:
dE / dt = [ dE / dx ] [ dx / dt ] = v [ dE / dx ]

You do it through a diffusion constant.
