Very high energy photon burst. |
If something created an extremely powerful electro magnetic pulse,
what exactly would it do to the surrounding area?
I believe it would cause a massive cascade of gamma radiation which
knocked electrons completely from the shells of every nucleas it got a
hold of, and even then if the energy was high enough it would keep on
going for a while, and thus act as a plasma inducing vaporizer.
If we could create weaponary on this mechanism, it would be very
destructive, but also very clean.
Anyone's thoughts on this?

Create eddy currents in conductors destroying electrical
and electronic equipment, perhaps ionize nearby matter to
some degree.

Gamma radiation is on an energy par with nuclear reactions,
which is why we get gamma rays from nuclear decays. No mere
chemical reaction (diddling with orbital electrons) is going
to produce gammas.
If we could create weaponary on this mechanism, it would be very
destructive, but also very clean.
Anyone's thoughts on this?
Neutron bomb. Kills the biological infestation and leaves
the infrastructure.

But a neutron bomb doesn't sent an EM pulse. If we had an antimatter
bomb, then it would do that. That's the kind of stuff I'm talking
about.

I was just suggesting a less destructive alternative.

What amount of radioactive material does a neutron bomb leave? Like if
it combined with the nucleus of other atoms?
What amount of radioactive material does an antimatter bomb leave?
High enough energy gamma radiation might possibly induce
radioactivity.
Either way... I think more destructive power per gram is better.
Especially if it's antimatter. There's no way barbarian-culture
nations will be able to get their hands on that stuff. So that means
only advanced and civilized countries will have them.
The only country we'd have to worry about then would be China. But, no
worries, we'll just make deals with all the countries dumping their
drugs on us and get them to dump them on China. It's how we weakened
them last time... through opium. NO country can resist the ultimate
power of the ultimate flower. Mwa hah hah hah haa!!!
Er... anyways, enough chat. Let's invent, and then build an antimatter
bomb and wipe out China, okay?
