What if GR and QFT merged? |
Would there be creation/annihilation operators for timespace?

I assume that by "timespace" you mean what everyone else
calls "spacetime"...
The answer is that we don't know. Some physicists have
suggested that quantum gravity might involve creation
and annihilation operators for "universes" -- the idea
is called "third quantization," and you can find a
discussion in, for example, M. McGuigan, Phys. Rev. D38
(1988) 3031. But since we don't have anything close
to a complete quantum theory of gravity, we don't know
whether this will be an ingedient or not.

You mean Lee Smolin has failed already?
