Hi,
I am trying to calculate the radius and mass of a white dwarf
numerically using the Oppenheimer-Volkov equations. I have read about
30 physics papers about this but they all leave out critical steps and
do not really tell you what to do. My main problem is that I don't know
what is a good starting pressure or density to use. I am also not sure
if I can assume uniform density. Also for the polytrope EoS, if I enter
the uniform density into it, what is the pressure that I get? Pressure
at the center?
Thanks,
Karl Moller
