Why don't people study Physics any more? |
Is it too difficult in this world instant results - no mouse clicking just
hard sums?

Who says they don't? The various university physics departments
around the world still seem to be open and assigning homework.

At any number of universities students of physics are considered to be
dreamers and nerds. It's hard to find chicks interested in quantum
mechanics. I think perhaps that social peer pressure discourages
such endeavors; it would not be considered the optimum path to
becoming an 'alpha male'.
And what is the 'earning potential' in such a career? A basketball
player can make millions of dollars per year if he can consistently
put a ball through a hoop. What can an expert theoretician in
quantum mechanics or a high-energy experimental physicist be expected
to earn?
Get the picture? You gotta love it to persue it. One must be aware
that the deep insights in physics are the reward.

There's good market for them, but in Iran :-)
Hahhahhah :)
Where they won't just earn the little money they're paid.
They also earn respect, and the realization that their works
have made a positive difference.
