15 U.S. soldiers killed since Friday in Vietnam |

As the United States enters another year bogged down in a quagmire
which has lasted longer than WW2, many Americans ask, "When will this
nightmare be over?" In a recent press conference, President Nixon
expressed confidence that the recent surge in troop strength will
allow the United States forces to stem the tide of violence before
turning over security duties to the government of South Vietnam.
