Object: A Vote For Republicans Is A Vote For High Gas Prices
The House of Representatives is now debating a bill for the FTC to
have authority to penalize oil companies for price gouging. Democrats
are lining up in favor of the legislation and many Republicans against
it. By a strange coincidence Republicans tend to get a lot bigger
campaign contributions from the oil industry. See
http://www.capitaleye.org/inside.asp?ID=245 The average gas price has
gone up over double since the start of the Bush administration. At one
point our presidents, Republican or Democrat, would jawbone the prices
down when they would get out of line, but not with the incredibly
crooked Bush administration. Our presidents used to pressure Israel to
back off from oppressing the Palestinians too from time to time,
seeing Israel gets billions of dollars in foreign military aide every
year from the US and all, but that too changed with the beginning of
"the worst president in US history" according to former president
Jimmy Carter. If you want the big oil cartel to continue to oppress
American consumers keep voting for Republicans.

It is not the oil industry but the way the oil and gasoline along with
natural gas are brought to market. It is the commodity market that allows
for the price gouging and speculation we see today. The conservatice icon,
Nixon, allowed oil to be traded as a commodity which opened the door for the
shylocks and robber barons. Write your Congressmen and ask them to
explain to you how the price of oil is set compared to the actual cost of
producing a barrel. Same for gasoline; if you get a reply please post it.
No shortage on gasoline, no station has run out but the price on the
commodity boards continues to go up. Same production per day at
1.50/gallon and at 2.65/gallon so where is the reason for price increase.
It is speculation, pure and simple.
Congress remove oil, gasoline and natural gas from commodity trading and
place them on a national security price control. Congress should
investigate just who controls these commodity markets and how involved the
oil companies are in the markets. Look into the shysters running the
distribution networks as well. Hell nationalize the pipelines and be done
with it.
