ACLU to file lawsuit over NSA spying

ACLU of Florida holds a news conference today to discuss a Michigan
lawsuit filed by the group challenging the legality of the domestic
surveillance program being conducted by the National Security Agency
under presidential authorization.
The suit was filed in U.S. District Court in Michigan; it seeks a
declaraton that the NSA spying is illegal and a permanent halt.
Plaintiffs include authors and journalists James Bamford, Christopher
Hitchens and Tara McKelvey, as well as the National Association of
Criminal Defense Lawyers, Greenpeace and the Council on American
Islamic Relations.
ACLU legal director Randall Marshall and CAIR legal advisor Areeb
Naseer will speak at 11 a.m. at the ACLU of Florida office, 4500
Biscayne Blvd., Suite 340.
