I never in my life heard of a "Spring Bunny" until I read your post.
If you want to get outraged about something, there are plenty of things out
there without having to manufacture ***** like this.

The GOP knows the only chance it has to marginalize the tangible and
valid discontent of voters with the GOP is to create counterbalancing
faux issues to distract or motivate the mouth breathers.
You don't think it's a coincidence that anti-gay marriage
referrendums are on the 2006 ballots of four states as of this
writing?

And today this high school rag goes to sex offenders to try to find
the wedge to compensate for a foundered economy, a tar baby war that's
spawned a civil war and a presidency that's in the toilet.
Gee what could they find?
Sex offenders.
with having pretty much tapped out of the fear on the war on
terror front, the GOP is desperate for an issue. And so they've gone
focus grouping and polling and planning. With only the evangelical
vote and the angry white male vote, they desperately need the woman
vote- a vote that loathes all their social policies.
How are they going to try to get that soccer mom vote? Why with fear
of course. What fear haven't they worn out that will work on the mom
vote? Sexual predators!! Never mind that crime is down to 30 year
lows. Never mind the courts have the power to lock up sex offenders
for life, never mind that there's no there, there. Sell the fear!!
This session in Washington state with GOP planning and impetus they
literally introduced 43 sex offender bills! 43!!
http://apps.leg.wa.gov/billinfo/search.aspx?term=sex%20offender
and with Pam Roach also proposing a bestiality bill besides!!
The same is happening in other states. This is the national GOP
strategy for November. It's come to that.
And they've started the fear machine :
http://www.nwprogressive.org/weblog/2006/01/wa-state-gop-executes-sick-political.html
WA State GOP executes sick political stunt
Just when you thought they could sink no lower...they do.
Just when you thought it couldn't get any more Rovian than it already
has...it does.
The Washington State Republicans have executed a political stunt that
is so nasty, despicable, and sickening that past dirty tricks pale in
comparison. This stunt is downright filthy...as filthy as can be.
The Speaker’s Roundtable, a front organization for Washington State
Republicans, have set up a slick, sick campaign to target Democratic
legislators, claiming that Democrats want to protect sex offenders and
not innocent children. They're going all out, with TV ads, robo calls,
and postcards....like this:
---
But watch the sex offender drum beat. It's all they have left. Fear
fear fear. They've worn out all the usual sources. they have no
platform to run on, and a war and a president and a Congress to run
away from - so this is what we get. the lowest of the low. How
disgusting. How typically GOP. How sad.
But the if it bleeds it leads fear mongers in the media love it. And
the GOP knows how to feed that fear beast. They will crassly march out
victims families and use them a their puppets and pretend the issue is
about families. but it's really about what's left to run on in the
fear market.

Ah, getting back to the pagan roots of the holiday.
My Wiccan friends will be pleased.
(Except, of course, that this is really more of a ploy to
pretend that Xiainity really is secularism, and indoctrinate
the young *that* way)
