Ann Coulter Misrepresents Her Own Book-- |
Ann Coulter Misrepresents Her Own Book--
I don't understand why more Democrats don't confront Ann Coulter more
aggressively more often. She crumbles in the face of any question she's not
prepared for. Last night (8/31/06), Coulter was back on Hannity & Colmes one
week after she cut and ran
<http://www.newshounds.us/2006/08/25/after_a_few_tough_questions_ann_coulter_cuts_and_runs_from_hannity_colmes_with_video.php>
in the face of a few difficult questions from a substitute co-host. Last
night, Alan Colmes questioned why she knocked a movie that portrayed a
fictional assassination of President Bush when she didn't mind suggesting
that it might be appropriate to assassinate President Clinton. In a
fumbling, childish manner, the 44 year-old Coulter tried to make the case
that she never advocated such a thing. But a passage from one of her books,
available via Google, shows otherwise.
The quote in Coulter's High Crimes and Misdemeanors says: In this recurring
nightmare of (Bill Clinton's) presidency, we have to have a national debate
about whether he "did it," even though all sentient people know he did.
Otherwise, there would be debates only about whether to impeach or
assassinate.
Last night on H&C, Coulter seemed to be trying to argue, albeit with
childish incoherence, that she had been saying that our legal system,
compared to the old British system, presented an alternative to hanging when
a president commits a wrong. But it's clear from the context of her book
that she is at least somewhat wistful for the older way. You can read the
quote, which appears on page 107 of the book, on Google here.

Coulter-geist has to be the POSTER CHILD for all the Dumb Blonde jokes on
Earth.
Coulter, like all neocons are shooting themselves in the foot.
Their own ideology is what is destroying them.
Stupid ideas never usually go very far in America, yet, "Stupid Ideas" have
held rein in this country for the past 6 years, and theirs an organized and
focused minority out there insuring those "Stupid Ideas" hold sway.
Coulter, like Hannity, O' Reilly will all be gone soon. FNC ratings are down
28% over last year, which is not good. Roger Uber-Alles, the FNC CEO will
likely loose his job, as he has failed as a CEO.
The neocon pundits were entertaining but failed to do one simple thing;
Show their ideology was good for America in any way, shape or form.
Ann is now appearing on Pat Robertson's 700 Club (Pat is another right
winger with homicidal tendencies). She proclaims herself to be a great
Christian and a member of a Manhatten (thought she "lived" in Florida?)
Presbyterian Church whose rector has never heard of her.

I don't think anybody with at least a brain stem takes her seriously --
she'sjust so absurdly over-the-top in her wickedness, you just know her
real audience is the clueless republicons she's manipulating for their
money (ala the sleazy Rush Limbaugh),
I don't think any sensible person is threatened by her theatrics.

RED ALERT: As the GOP slips in House and Senate races, the pressure to
concoct a spectacular "success" (or failure, as in another horrific terror
attack) increases. Bushco knows that Democratic control of the House means
the possibility of impeachment or worse; add to that Democratic control of
the Senate and they know they're toast. When you have GOP hacks like Hannity
preaching "death before Pelosi!", no one should discount the possibility of
desperate men taking desperate action.
You have been warned.
