Irons wins Alabama House District 1 race
Associated Press
FLORENCE, Ala. -
Democrat Tammy Irons won 61 percent of the vote Tuesday night to
become the first woman elected to Alabama's House District 1.
Irons won 4,229 votes, or 61 percent, to Republican William Smith's
2,649 votes, or 38 percent.
Eight write-in votes were cast.
The special election was called to fill the seat left vacant by the
death of Rep. Nelson Starkey in December.
"I'm humbled by the turnout, and I'm ready to get to work tomorrow,"
Irons told the Florence Times Daily.
"I'm glad people accepted my vision for the area."
She said she was proud that almost all the money raised for her
campaign came from local supporters.
"I don't want all the money in Montgomery," she said.
"I want people's support."
Smith said his campaign started at a disadvantage.
"My opponent raised $40,000 before I ever got in the race," he said.
Smith plans to run for the seat again in November during the regular
election cycle.
He said he didn't believe his campaign was able to completely outline
its message due to the abbreviated campaign schedule.
Irons will be sworn in Tuesday when the Legislature meets.

Yes, and?

makes you out for a dumbass for making your

Makes you an idiot for not considering how the

went...

Went to a democrat Senator, dumbass, or perhaps a
dumbass
democrat
Senator,
either one is correct.

House seat, moron.

Even worse.

Sez the rightard after he realizes he blew it again...

See the liberal after he blew me again. Tell me again how
it
doesn't
matter
who they voted for congress in the congressional election,
what
really
matters is how they voted for President.

Oh but I can - I clued you in, eh?

You told me how they vote for President is more telling of who
will
win a
house seat than how they vote for congress. eh?

You don't consider 60% significant? Hmmm

Not of a totaltly different election. Do you consider 95% of them
owning
vehicles significant? If you are only looking for a number......

There is no equivalence between elections and vehicle ownership.

you can't use someone else's votes in a different election either.

And yet, you drag in vehicle ownership... hmmm

If you use irrelevant information, so will I.

What irrelevant information did I use?
