Anything But God |
-Society willingly bows to thousands of rules of the criminal code.
But, God's 10 commandments is too much to ask.
-Society will believe in and honor policemen, firemen, soldiers, and
others for self-sacrifice. But, God's sacrifice is too hard to
accept.
-Society willingly pays 100 dollars an hour to confess their wrongs
and failures to psychologists with few answers. However, confessing
your sins to God is too hard...right?
-Society will believe in UFOs, telepathy, astrology, the power of
witches, ghosts, and more. But, apparently, believing in God's angels
warring against demons is just weird.
-Society will contribute to the whales, the UN, aids foundations, and
lottos. However, giving to a church is something we just cannot
afford.
-Society will sing songs to santa, teach their kids to petition him,
and watch movies about him annually. But, teaching about Christ at
Christmas is a burden.
-Society will religiously watch every sports game on sundays, decorate
their house for the team, wear team materials, shout unto their tv in
the games, and buy season tickets. However, a cross might make them
look like a fanatic?
-Society will stand loyally to the political positions of their
political parties and organizations, without really questioning any of
their positions. However, Scripture must be challenged and
questioned?
Basically, it comes down to this. Society will do and worship
anything but God.

Actually, the kind of person who does not believe in God's angels

Yes, He is. So what's His excuse? After all, He made us the way we
are, and He could presumably fix whatever is wrong with us at a whim.
If Satan's fate is certain, why bother praying for him? It won't
change anything.
If Satan is sure to be destroyed at the end of time, why not get it
over with sooner and eliminate a lot of suffering? Sure, it is the
suffering of sinners, but the Christian belief is that He cares about
us even though we are sinners, so why the indirect and lengthy
solution of God's Plan and not something more immediate that reduces
suffering?
All-powerful deities have a LOT to answer for. Indeed they are
responsible for EVERYTHING, because they made EVERYTHING, including
all the flaws.

As pointed out, Ken - and you really should read more carefully - no
one suggested that God KILL Lucifer. Only that God prevent him from
doing harm to others. God has both the power and the right to do this.
So there's no contradiction; the poster has already made up his mind.
If YOU were a judge, wouldn't YOU lock up an evil criminal who intends
to do more harm? Wouldn't we consider that a good thing for a judge to
do?
By the way, while all the Christian stories of Lucifer (at least, if
taken at face value) demonstrate that he is "an evil criminal who
intends to do more harm," not everybody believes that all or even most
human beings fit the same description, and therefore deserve the same
treatment. You believe that, of course, although I always wonder how
you phrase it when explaining to your children that they are as evil
as Lucifer and deserve the same punishment.

NOT KILL,
and NO EXCEPTIONS, this includes the fucking idiotic christian god moron.
so obey, your own ***** law you useless pile of crap sky pixie and quit
MURDERING people with floods, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc., etc.
First, you say God is to blame for allowing evil beings to be down
here among us. Then, you blame God for killing evil beings (since we
are evil). Make up your mind.
Then, God should lock up all of us, since we choose to do evil to each
other, right? Why should God protect one evil being from another?
I answer your questions as best I'm able, Ken. Why do you not answer
mine, but instead just shoot back other questions, as though they
settled the issue?
As for your question:
Why should God protect one evil being from another?
The answer is: because he loves them, cares about them, and wants them
to change their ways.
Any good judge (much less the Most Good Judge of all) will tell you
that we are SUPPOSED to protect people from criminals - even to the
extent of protecting other criminals. We may punish people for their
crimes by locking them up, but we're not supposed to let bigger,
badder criminals bully them, beat them up, or kill them. This is why
we take knives away from prisioners in our jails. (Of course, violence
still happens in jails, but that's because they are hard for humans to
monitor, and also because a lot of humans, being imperfect, simply
don't care about what happens to people in jail - even though we're
supposed to love out neighbors and our enemies. But God doesn't have
any of these limitations.)
Perhaps you think that we should leave our convicts with their shivs
and let the big ones butcher the little ones. But decent people don't
see that as good. Is God less good than man?
Of course, I consider your view that all humans are "demons," or "as
bad as Lucifer and deserving the same punishment," as hateful of
humanity, self-hating, and ultimately an insult to God - did he really
build us all so poorly? But even if it's accurate, we still protect
criminals from other criminals.
When an adult kills a one-year-old, do you REALLY say, "well, no
reason for God to protect the infant, after all it was as bad as
Lucifer and deserving of the same punishment"? Since that's your
reason for why God doesn't protect us from harm.

Why shouldn't He? He is omnipotent, after all, and He is opposed to
evil. So He can stop any and all evil acts without breaking a sweat.
And you keep ignoring the fact that He is the one who created the
flawed people or demons that commit these evil acts, and He did so
knowing in advance that they would do so, and that gives Him some
considerable responsibility. God chose to foist evil upon the world.

We are urged to obey the Ten Commandments, yet it's too much
to ask that we follow the EIghtfold Way, or even honor
the Four Noble Truths.
Incidentally, I for one am happy that there are secular
laws against such things as arson, assault, and
even noise pollution. Were suchlike in the first
draft of the Ten Commandments, but got bumped in favor
of more important things, such as forbidding me to
have a statue of Priapus in my garden?

Who is this "Society", anyhow? Are you a part of "Society".
Since three out of every four Americans describes themselves

Christians.

I have largely given up responding to you, Ken, for reasons that I
suspect would mean nothing to you. But reading this, I have to ask:
What are you talking about? Many people accept the idea of God's
sacrifice. Many people who go to therapists (where the process doesn't
actually amount to "confessing" in any theological sense) also confess
their sins to God, and even to a priest in church. Many people believe
in UFOs, telepathy, astrology, AND angels; some only believe in UFOs,
others only in angels. Kids get taught about Jesus every year at
Christmas, if their parents believe in Jesus. Many people go to church
on Sunday, either before, after, or during the football game. A lot of
people contribute to their churches and religious institutions.
And the best thing is - they're allowed to do all these things, and
more, depending on their personal religious beliefs! Is this a great
country, or what?!!?

-Society
Throughout this bit of crap you misuse this word. "Society" doesn't
do any of those things that you claim. Lots of people within society
do each of them, and lots of people in society do other things. Lying
about what people do won't convince them that anything else you say is
true.
willingly bows to thousands of rules of the criminal code.
We elect the people who create those rules.
But, God's 10 commandments is too much to ask.
God gave 613 commandments, not just 10. Why do you ignore most of
them (including the ones you erroneous call "the Ten Commandments"
when it suits you)?
-Society will believe in and honor policemen, firemen, soldiers, and
others for self-sacrifice. But, God's sacrifice is too hard to
accept.
Those who believe that God sacrificed something accept it. Those who
don't believe that God sacrificed something have nothing to accept.
-Society willingly pays 100 dollars an hour to confess their wrongs
and failures to psychologists with few answers. However, confessing
your sins to God is too hard...right?
Those who believe in God and in the concept of sin have no problem
confessing their sins to God. Those who don't believe think it is a
waste of mental energy.
-Society will believe in UFOs, telepathy, astrology, the power of
witches, ghosts, and more. But, apparently, believing in God's angels
warring against demons is just weird.
About as weird as the other stuff you mentioned. One myth is as weird
as another.
-Society will contribute to the whales, the UN, aids foundations, and
lottos. However, giving to a church is something we just cannot
afford.
Those who think that the church is doing something good for humanity
have no problem giving to the church. Those who think that
televangelists are parasites on society think otherwise.
And why would anyone pay for a preacher, when we can look at your crap
on Usenet for free?
-Society will sing songs to santa, teach their kids to petition him,
and watch movies about him annually. But, teaching about Christ at

Only to those who don't believe. To them, it is more than a "burden".
-Society will religiously watch every sports game on sundays, decorate
their house for the team, wear team materials, shout unto their tv in
the games, and buy season tickets. However, a cross might make them
look like a fanatic?
It might, especially if they couple it with endless blathering like
you do
Someone wearing a bunch of sports paraphernalia looks like a fanatic
too, along with those who do those other things. Ever consider where
the word "fan" comes from?
-Society will stand loyally to the political positions of their
political parties and organizations, without really questioning any of
their positions.
Only Republicans. Democrats are noted for disagreeing among
themselves. And independents question everything that the political
parties claim.
However, Scripture must be challenged and questioned?
Yes.
Basically, it comes down to this. Society will do and worship
anything but God.
Society doesn't do anything but exist. Some people worship God, and
others do not.
