There is no question Barbara Walker (Rene) is a paid spammer.
There are plenty of right-wing zealots on the net, but nobody would
consistently
spam for so long unless they were paid.
(It should come as no surprise that Rene's other job is sending out email
ads for penis enlargement.)
The big question is why anyone would pay her to do such a crappy job?
For example, this post where she claims Democrats are losing ground in the
polls.
If you follow the link, you will see a whole list of polls, on this topic,
with narrow and statistically insignificant
differences between the parties, but nothing to suggest the Republicans are
doing better than the Democrats.
Perhaps Rene is just drunk. But I imagine Rene just doesn't give a damn
about Quality, Truth, or Integrity,
and just wants to make a lousy buck so she can buy some more wine.

"Polls among registered voters show that the Republicans have gained ground
over the Democrats since the 1st of the year for the upcoming 2004
Congressional races. Democrats used to lead that race; now they trail the
Republicans. In addition, the number of "Not Sure" voters has declined.
"Things are NOT looking up for the Democrats, despite (or perhaps BECAUSE
OF?) their full-court Attack Dog mode of conducting themselves since Pelosi
took over and made the Party lurch leftward.

Hey Marie, can you send me some of that weed you're smoking? It must

Diane might take the odd swipe with a furless knuckle at her opponents
(all of whom she assumes are Democrats for some bizarre reason), but I
haven't seen her do anything but change identities, forge addresses,
delete text dishonestly, (then lie about what was deleted,) and make
wild accusations like "Clinton made the federal deficit rise every
year he was in office."
If that's a good "***** kicking", let me bring you back to my old NYC

Hey, Stupus, for someone who carries on like he's Nobel Prize
material, you're not too damn bright, are you? Do you leftist frauds
actually think that anyone with half a freakin' brain is impressed
with your crowd's never-ending bleats about trimming posts? Nothing is
deleted in here, moron, and you know it. Like, you don't know how to
use that scroll wheel on your mouse, hotshot? There you go!!!! See,
it's still there - just like magic!
For what it's worth, sir, if more people would trim posts to zero in
on those points they wish to address in impossibly long and convoluted
threads, they might actually get to have their repies read by others.
I personally won't scroll through ten pages of crap to read a recent
post, even from someone who interests me. And if I'm not clear on
something in a trimmed post, I scroll up and, PRESTO!, problem solved.
If you're actually suggesting that trimming posts is in any way
nefarious you're out of your mind. Oops, I take it back. You ARE out
of your mind - you're a liberal.
Cordially, Marie

Tee hee this is a funny post. Consider, what I said:
" I haven't seen her do anything but change identities, forge
addresses, delete text dishonestly, (then lie about what was deleted,)
and make wild accusations like "Clinton made the federal deficit rise
every year he was in office."
Then Marie compalins about "deleting text." Nothing else.
That's kind of like saying,. "you're a lying, arrogant, picayune,
disingenuous, self-serving, hearthless, halitosis-ridden, overweight
*****" and getting the reply:
"Hey, I'm not fat."
heheh.
Marie, dear, I don't care if you delete 100 percent of a post if its
irrelevant. Just mark the deletion. It's an indicator that text has
been removed and a usenet tradition going back to the 70's. What the
hell is so difficult about typing [...] or <snip>? Hmm?
As for the scroll wheel, you assume everyone is at a dekstop, using
the same mouse as you, the same OS, the same news client, yada yada.
Did you know that web access to usenet is a somewhat recent
phenomenon?
Right now I'm posting from an OSX box with neither mouse buttons nor
scroll wheel. (No Macs have scroll wheels, unless they are third
party.) Neither do laptops. Neither do most Unix mouses. In addition,
I see you post using Google, as I sometimes do. But I also use news
software on everything from an SGI to a Linux box to a Mac with
Newswatcher or a Win box with Newsrover or Agent.
Don't assume everyone sees usenet the way you do. When I travel, I
only download new headers (as do many longime users.) They CAN'T just
"scroll up.
Delete all you want, I really don't care. Just mark the deletion.
Everyone does it. Go visit a comp.sys or news.admin group and see for
yourself. What's the big deal about following 30 year old usenet
conventions and typing in like four letters to mark the snip?

A few points were well taken and you pointed out a few things I wasn't
aware of. I'm not a computer geek and use this merely to communicate,
research and as a library of sorts. The process doesn't at all
intrigue me. There's only so much I can cram into this brain, and I
guess it's too late in life for me to tackle yet another long learning
curve. But I do find it somewhat irritating that more people don't
snip these "four-screen" posts. Most people simply aren't going to
wade through that. I will, though, keep what you said in mind. Thanks.

As do many. That's why I'm not angry, just trying to educate. We all
had to learn this stuff at some point.

Preaching to the choir, Marie. I HATE those silly long posts, and find
it irritating to download huge posts with a one line response at the
end. That's when editing is more than polite, it's essential. The only
thing that needs to be in a post is what's being debated. The rest?
Mark it and snip it.
Most people simply aren't going to
wade through that. I will, though, keep what you said in mind. Thanks.

And thank you for being civil as well. Much appreciated. B)

No one in their right mind would look at her posts and say "my, what

I see three possibilities:
A) She is a paid RNC troll (Bad move)
B) She is a paid DNC troll (Pretty slick)
C) She is just a whack job with too much free time. (I'm doubtful.
Even the most zealous don't post in the vast quantities she does.)
I'm starting to lean towards B. Occam's Razor and all that......

Perhaps Rene is just drunk. But I imagine Rene just doesn't give a damn
about Quality, Truth, or Integrity,
and just wants to make a lousy buck so she can buy some more wine.
She already has plenty of whine. yukyukyuk
Imagine this for a second. Sure it's easy to dismiss her as a paid RNC
troll. But what if the reverse were true?
No one in their right mind would look at her posts and say "my, what
well-written, thoughtful discourse. I would be proud to associate
myself with someone of her obvious brilliant insight."
No they think 'Phew, what a loony" and send another $50 to Howard
Dean.
Look, I loathe Dimson and all his little minions and hope we can
somehow send his ***** home to Connect---, uh Texas, where perhaps he
can spend his dotage marveling at the wonder of escalator travel. But
Rene/Barbara/Diane is probably the best advertising the DNC could hope
for:
"Do you want to be associated with THIS?"
You asserted in the subject line a statement of fact.
what evidence do you have?

Froggie, my post is only a followup: I neither wrote, nor do I agree
with the subject line. If you look a few lines above this, you'll see
I have a few suppositions, the least likely of which is that Diane is
a paid Bush propagandist. One thing Bush has done is surround himself
with smart people, not semi-literate trolls. I don't think any Bush
money goes to her.
As I said...I lean towards option B, that she is actually a DNC troll,
trying to make Republicans look bad. (I am neither Republican nor
Democrat, personally. I vote for candidates, not parties.)
If she is really doing all that work on her own volition, posting
under scores of identities, posting hundreds of times a day, and
impersonating some woman in Texas (when her IP is obviously from MA)
then she needs to get a life, and perhaps some professional care. But
I still think she is encouraged and possibly paid by increasingly
worried DNC operatives who want to make the Repubs look bad.
Your mileage may vary.

Why not? Didn't Random House pay the Coulter shitbag to publish HER

airwaves? So what's so unbelievable about BW getting some republican
small change tossed into her tin cup? I only hope it's enough to cover

If you're going to hire a flak, you send him someplace where he can
influence opinions and introduce issues into the debate. You don't
send him to usenet newsgroups, a place where the chances of finding
someone who hasn't yet made up their mind is virtually nil.
As for Random House and MSNBC, I think their primary motive in
promoting Coulter and "Savage" was to make money. I can't imagine
anyone's making money from usenet trolls.
