Greetings Citizens,
In the interests of providing a clear and productive direction for
Progressive candidates to work from I offer the following points for
discussion regarding the future Competitiveness Policy of the US.
O--Universal heath care for all school age children, $5000 annual cap on
catastrophic healthcare cost for all adults
O--Fund K-12 Education with modified property tax model that incorporates a
needs basis
O--Provide strong R&D funding to return Science to its rightful place at
the center of our national heritage in space exploration, stem cell
research, evolution, climate change, nanotechnology...
O--Targeted Trade sanctions/incentives to protect labor and environmental
standards and encourage jobs to stay here at home
O--Place a moratorium on new trade agreements until existing agreements can
be examined for Fair over Free
O--Ensure "Net Neutrality" to prevent big corporations from having greater
access to the taxpayer funded Internet than small business or individuals
Have at them. All input is welcome. Feel free to point out any
inconsistencies, overlaps or contradictions and also to add to the list if
you feel something is missing.
