Greetings Citizens,
In the interests of providing a clear and productive direction for
Progressive candidates to work from I offer the following points for
discussion regarding the future Energy Policy of the US.
O--Apollo style energy program to fully develop renewable fuel sources for
autos and homes
O--End Federal subsidies to oil companies by eliminating tax breaks and
charge fair market price for drilling and extraction on public lands
O--Place a Carbon Tax on oil and coal to fund research and development of
alternate fuels
O--Tax incentives to invest in existing renewable and conservation measures
O--US to be energy independent and petroleum free by 2025
Have at them. All input is welcome. Feel free to point out any
inconsistencies, overlaps or contradictions and also to add to the list if
you feel something is missing.
