Some See Pakistan's Truce As a Defeat
By DEAN VISSER and MATTHEW PENNINGTON

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan --
Pakistan has a new strategy for fighting al-Qaida and Taliban
militancy on its lawless border with Afghanistan:
peace.
After three years of battles, the army has reached a truce with
militants in North Waziristan.
But that's only stoked fears that Islamic extremists will have a freer
run than ever along the rugged frontier where Osama bin Laden could be
hiding.
Some see the truce, brokered by tribal leaders, as a humiliating
defeat for Pakistan's president, Gen. Pervez Musharraf, who is a key
U.S. ally in the war on terrorists.

Today Iraq+Iran have just made Bush & U.S. look like stupid idiots SEE them
shaking hands while 2 American soldiers have just died for what???
"The American military today reported the deaths of two soldiers, one killed
by a roadside bomb south of Baghdad late Tuesday, the other killed on Monday
in combat in Anbar province in the country's west. "
CHECK THIS OUT - UNBELIEVABLE!
"In Tehran, Mr. Maliki met with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and declared
afterwards that "even in security issues, there is no barrier in the way of
cooperation." For his part, Mr. Ahmadinejad said, "Iran will give its
assistance to establish complete security in Iraq, because Iraq's security
is Iran's security." It was not clear what form Iranian support on security
would take, or how it would be regarded by the American authorities here."
