million dollars to Linda Tripp, a central figure in the Monica
Lewinsky scandal, as part of a settlement of lawsuits that accused
U.S. officials of violating her privacy, court documents showed on
Monday.
Tripp's secretly taped conversations with Lewinsky fueled the sex
scandal that almost brought down former President Bill Clinton (news -
web sites). Tripp transferred to a job at the Pentagon (news - web
sites) from the White House after news of her tape recordings became
public.
Tripp sued the Defense Department and the U.S. government for privacy
violations, including a charge that officials leaked information that
she was interviewing for a job at a lower rank and salary than her old
job.
Tripp also accused U.S. officials of leaking information from her
security clearance.
Under the settlement, Tripp will be paid a lump sum of $595,000 and
she will receive a retroactive increase in her pay grade which will be
used to re-calculate her retirement benefits.

a lawsuit. Why did Clinton settle with the special prosecuter and the Bar
Association of Arkansas, was he guilty I presume you could think that if you
were someone that disliked Clinton. The guy that wrote this post is such a
Bush hater that he flat out says that Bush settled the suit. I will bet that
the idiot thinks with everything else on his plate he was busy keeping track
of the Tripp trial. He might also contend that in the fantasy world he lives

republicans will not look very good when all the information comes to light.

promising a middle-class tax cut. Upon attaining office,
he switched gears and said he "couldn't do it." Six years
later, after the voters installed a Republican majority in
Congress that led to a looming budget surplus, Clinton
refused to consider any tax cuts and looked for new ways
to spend the money.
A consensual affair?
who cares?
When it occurs during working hours in the company building,
it becomes an employment issue. More to the point, when you
promise to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but
the truth while under oath and then tell a lie, you are
violating a key component of the justice system.
A brutal senseless invasion of a smaller country,
who cares?
Clinton was trying to change the subject from his performance
problems as President when he did that.
Bush is shameful everytime he opens his cruel thin lips.
Bush is doing what he promised to do when he was sworn
into office. Yes, I know, it's a new concept for Clinton
defenders.

The selling of everything including technology weaponry continues under the
George W. Bush admistration. It is amazing that no matter what, it is someone
else fault to a republican. How many years do you have to have control until
you say it is your doing?
