Bush general justifies deaths of 2400, 24000, 240000 U.S. troops |

MILWAUKEE (AP) --
Those who count the increasing number of American soldiers killed in
Iraq are missing the bigger picture, retired Gen. Tommy Franks said
Saturday night.
"What we're talking about is neither 2,400, 24,000 or 240,000 lives,"
Franks said at the National Rifle Association's annual banquet.
"Terrorism is a thing that threatens our way of life. It doesn't have
anything to do with politics."
More than 2,400 soldiers have died since the beginning of the invasion
of Iraq, the plan for which Franks developed and executed.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, much to Rumsfeld's chagrin, told
reporters in Britain that the administration had made "thousands" of
tactical errors in its conduct of the war in Iraq.
The retired generals, including two who commanded Army divisions in
Iraq, say Rumsfeld made fatal errors in planning and conducting the
war and needs to go so changes can be made.
Right about the errors, the generals are just confirming what most
Americans already know:
Rumsfeld, acting at President Bush's direction, ignored military
advice that 400,000 or more U.S. troops would be needed to secure Iraq
after the invasion.
He threw out years of State Department postwar planning and had no
substitute plan for winning the peace.
He fantasized that Iraqis would greet U.S. forces with open arms.

Californian's captured that terrorist butcher for a time when
he was discovered at a local public school. The parents should
have executed him there on the spot.

But a monkeywrench can do a whole lot more.

I wonder why he stopped at 240,000 and didn't say 240 million?

I wonder how anyone would be so stupid as to ask such a question?
Obviously you missed the gist of the statement he was making?
