Bush poll numbers alarm the GOP
President Bush will have to reassure his Republican base that the United
States is winning the war in Iraq and the economy is improving before his
anemic poll numbers begin turning upward, election pollsters and strategists
say.
Mr. Bush's numbers fell last week to the lowest levels of his presidency
as insurgent violence in Iraq worsened and as criticism increased over the
administration's handling of the economy and its approval of a proposed
takeover of terminal operations at six U.S. ports by an Arab-owned firm.

"If the election were held today, it would be a bloodbath for the
Republicans, who would probably lose the House," said a Republican campaign
strategist, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
34% - hahahahahahahahahahaaha! Goodbye GOP, goodbye.
Don't let the door to the White House hit you in the ***** on your long walk
back to Texas.

There's still the Iranian war issue to be plucked so the Republicans can
keep themselves in power.

It's a non-issue.
There is no Iranian war.

No Iranian war?

It's started already.
Just look at the steps Bush took to get us into Iraq, and you'll see
Iran is in the early-stages of planning for an '08 invasion - coupled
with the '08 US presidental run.
Lets review what has to happen:
1. Country X (Iraq, Iran, whatever) threatens the world with WMD. If X =
Iran, it's nukes.
2. Al-Baraday refers them to the UN Security Council, where they are
found in 'violation'.
3. The US will now have an international mandate to invade, to 'enforce'
the UN 'violation'.
4. The game is rigged in such a way that the West's demands are
outrageous and will only stoke fundamentalists in the target country X.
5. Air strikes will be lanuched. For X = Iraq, we had the no-fly zones
and for X = Iran, we'll launch a preemptive strike against their nuke
plants.
6. Country X will over-respond, and that's all the excuse the US needs
for a ground assault. It would be helpful if country X cut off gas to
the US, causing long lines and sky high prices at the pump. This will
just '***** off' every American, who will then fully support the invasion.
7. One nice touch the neocons added for X = Iraq, was a deadline, which
of course, no self respecting country will allow itself to be
black-mailed, and so we'll invade with moral certantitude that they
brought it on themselves by non-compliance.

If the election were held today, the Republicans would certainly win -
electronic voting machines - remember?

I also have a gut feeling they might pluck Osama at the right moment
that they pretty much may be able to get him anytime and are waiting
