Bush says U.S. will spend any amount to win war against terrorism
Sep. 8, 2003
Four days before the anniversary of the Sept. 11
attacks, President George W. Bush said he will seek $87
billion to fight terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan and
"engage the enemy where he lives."
In an 18-minute address on Sunday night (see full text
of speech below), Bush said: "We are fighting that
enemy in Iraq and Afghanistan today so that we do not
meet him again on our own streets, in our own cities."
Bush appealed for troops and money for security and
reconstruction from other countries, even those who
opposed the U.S.-led war.
Bush, speaking from the Cabinet Room in a nationally
broadcast speech, said the United States would not be
intimidated into retreat by violence.
It was Bush's first major speech on Iraq since May 1
when he stood on the deck of the aircraft carrier
Abraham Lincoln and declared an end to major combat operations.
While the United States has shouldered the burden of
the effort in Iraq, Bush said other nations will be
asked to help. He said Powell will meet with
representatives of many countries later this month to
seek contributions for rebuilding Afghanistan. Next
month, Powell will hold a similar funding conference
for Iraq.
"Europe, Japan and states in the Middle East all will
benefit from the success of freedom in those two
countries, and they should contribute to that success,"
Bush said.

The USSR said the same thing when they battled the Afghanis.
And we know how great that went.
Who's more fucked: The Israelis or the Americans?
Once the USA goes bankrupt what does Israel do for money?
US is not going to be bankrupt, but if it does, you can say goodbye to
the European economy.
Israel is getting only 0.5% of its GDP from the US as a direct aid.
The military aid could be replaced with Israeli equipment. and while
Israel's economy is expected to grow by 2.5% in 2004, the Europeans
still fight the recession.
Israel is like the welfare mother with 20 kids and bad drug habit who gets
her cheques pulled out suddenly....and she becomes hopeless.
According to the CIA World Factbook:
Israel's trade deficit as part of its GDP: 2.2%
US: 4.6%
(2002 numbers)
No other country will foot the bill to Israel. It will be funny watching
these zionazis fishing for spare F15 parts from India.
Funny you're saying this, the Indians are going to buy from Israel
early warning planes in a US$ billion deal.

Sounds of French laughter could be faintly heard

He's an awfully brave coward when it comes
to other people's lives.
It was Bush's first major speech on Iraq since May 1

Why didn't anyone tell the Iraqis that major combat

have the lighting set up yet.

Did he say which century we could expect that

Your problem in Europe began a long time ago. It hit critical mass
recently when the EU was formed. At least the U.K. had sense enough to
not bend over for the French. Germany was Europe's largest and
strongest economy, and now they are barely able to qualify for continued
EU membership as established by the French criteria.
What you see as arrogance, I see as conviction and leadership. The
only arrogance I am aware of seems to reside in Paris. However, I
prefer to remain optimistic by presuming that it is just that the French
are confused enough to think they are relevant. You in Europe do have a
duty and responsibility. Europe shares the burden of enabling Sadam for
the past 12 years. France and Germany share the responsibility for
trading (in violation) with Sadam and providing WMD over the past 12 years.
The fact that Europe sat on its ***** in the face of a threat that they
(European control over the U.N.) were well aware of and helped to
produce, such that they engaged in some 14 pointless U.N. Resolutions
and debates over the past 12 years, resulting in nothing but allowing
Sadam to become an even greater threat, concern and challenge for
Inspectors Blix and Clusou, does in fact implicate Europe and their hand
in where we are today. At least in spite of the exemplary lack of
leadership in Europe, President Bush did the right thing. Again, Europe
and the U.N. are at a cross-roads. They can stay their pointless
course, continuing to excel at being irrelevant, or join the world
leader and winning team. You may choose to view President Bush as
simplistic, stupid, and stubborn - but you might want to re-consider
that, and anticipate that he is as serious as a heart attack, and
determined to confront terrorism directly. This is a man that places
his re-election and popularity second to doing what he truly believes in
his heart to be correct. He was never elected to represent Europe, or
be lead by the U.N. He suffers no dillusions about that.... you lot
should not either.
Let's be clear, the President was not asking the French or Germans for
anything. In fact on request of other nations who actually add value
(other than Qatar, U.K., Spain and Poland), the Pakistani's wanted UN
support for them to contribute their value in Iraq. It is far better to
work the streets of Tikrit with troops that blend in better than a
blue-eyed soldier, brother, or Hispanic.
If Europe thinks themselves immune to serious terrorism, then they
should ignore this opportunity to participate, save their cash and
investment now, and then worry about what they will have to pay later.

I presume the US also passed those same resolutions, so you being slightly
hypocritical to lay the blame at Europe's door. And the simple fact is that
Europe did not back away from military action, Europe simply didn't think it
was the only course of action open at that time. The inspectors should have
been allowed to continue with their work.
The truth appears to be that Saddam did not have WMD. As the inspectors
would have discovered. And many thousands of lives would have been saved.

In 1973, in the shadow of the 1972 oil embargo, France
signed a secret accord with the Arab League, called the
EuroArabian Dialogue (EAD) which was later extended to
the EEC and later to EU.
EAD guaranteed France, Germany and the other members
unlimited oil supplies at base prices, and in return
France and the rest agreed to pursue Anti America and
Anti Israel policies.
Subsequently, all top level statements of foreign
policy are cleared through or originated from the EAD
secretary general's office in Paris.
It is no coincidence that France sheltered the
Ayatollah Khomeini and financed his revolt in Iran.
With friends like those, we have no need of enemies.

Sep.
At this point most of us in Europe were agog. Is there no end
to the
man's
arrogance and stupidity? We told him to ***** in March. He
went in
anyway. And now it's turning pear shaped he says we have a
"duty" and
"responsibility" to become involved in a war that we warned him
not to
have
in the first place.
Oh, and he's open to financial contributions as well. I take it
we're not
all "irrelevent" anymore then?
/
Your problem in Europe began a long time ago. It hit critical
mass
recently when the EU was formed. At least the U.K. had sense
enough to
not bend over for the French. Germany was Europe's largest and
strongest economy, and now they are barely able to qualify for
continued
EU membership as established by the French criteria.
What you see as arrogance, I see as conviction and leadership.
The
only arrogance I am aware of seems to reside in Paris. However,
I
prefer to remain optimistic by presuming that it is just that
the French
are confused enough to think they are relevant. You in Europe
do have a
duty and responsibility. Europe shares the burden of enabling
Sadam for
the past 12 years. France and Germany share the responsibility
for
trading (in violation) with Sadam and providing WMD over the
past 12
years.
The fact that Europe sat on its ***** in the face of a threat that
they
(European control over the U.N.) were well aware of and helped
to
produce, such that they engaged in some 14 pointless U.N.
Resolutions
and debates over the past 12 years, resulting in nothing but
allowing
Sadam to become an even greater threat, concern and challenge
for
Inspectors Blix and Clusou, does in fact implicate Europe and
their hand
in where we are today.
I presume the US also passed those same resolutions, so you being
slightly
hypocritical to lay the blame at Europe's door.
Europe has a history of fucking up, witness WWI and WWII, and then
waiting for the yanks to bail them out. This time we figured it
made
more sense to step in before things escalated to a major world war.
Certainly you losesr couldn't be counted on to do it right,
especially
based on you performances in 1914 and 1938. That left it to us.
Hahahahahahahha.
See Bat Ye'or's article about Eurabia at
www.nationalreview.com/comment/comment-yeor100902.asp
What Are you fishing for "France and the rest agreed to pursue Anti
America and
Anti Israel policies." this look more like hoax to me. Could it be the
French did get a better deal because do not victimce the Moslem world
the way America and Israel does.
Kurt Knoll.

The truth appears to be that Saddam did not have WMD. As the inspectors
would have discovered. And many thousands of lives would have been saved.
Partially true and fair. Yes, the US did participate with the UN. No,
I'm not being a hypocrite.... the blame is laid on France's door.
France had a simple task.... vote yes, no, or abstain. It is just that
simple. We can argue all day about if the UN was empowered to continue
inspections under the previous UN Resolutions, or not, and we can argue
about if the President was empowered under the Constitution and the same
UN Resolutions to invade Iraq. What we should not dispute is the clear
hostility of the French to mount a contingent to visit Africa and
convince the likes of Chad to vote against the US.
The truth does NOT appear that Sadam "did not have WMD". He did. The
truth is he did, and he used it violently against the Iraqi Kurds. The
truth is that the U.N. knew that he had WMD, and as a result implemented
sanctions and inspections to verify the destruction of. The truth is
that many of the same nations on the U.N. Security Council violated
their own resolutions and traded with (and supplied WMD to) Iraq. I'll
agree with you that many thousands of lives would have been saved - had
the French acted responsibly in the interest of the world and people of
Iraq. It was very likely that this war could have been avoided, with
Sadam stepping down peacefully, had he not have the support of the
French to hold on.

Nonsense. America is looking out for her Constitutional interests.
Iraq and France was looking out for Sadam's interests. You may chose to
conclude that our efforts have not worked out, that is your conclusion -
however you arrive at that.
In spite of the mighty French and other Socialists anticipating the
demise and failure of America for her actions - guess what, 2 wars have
been fought on the other side of the world, nearly back to back. The
U.S. economy has survived its recent problems, and is now growing in
spite of all nay-sayers the world over. Economy is great. Stock market
is great. America is doing great - even the Democratic Presidential
candidates have changed their tune, now they play the emotional rhetoric
about how the President is not considerate of Americans feelings. Yes,
one could conclude that the French won a battle, as they ponder the loss
of their war with us.
If you can somehow conjour that America is the evil one in the world,
then I don't know that I could see a bridge to help your intellect
problem. As for our instructions coming from the "Jewish masters"....
well come back when you know what you are talking about.
America is you (though you obviously hate it). This is what makes your
statement so pointless. America is black, white yellow, and brown....
colors of the rainbow that spans ethnicity like no other place on the
face of the globe or in history. This is what makes us great... it's
our strength. We are represented democratically by our own very
citizens comprised of Europeans, Mexicans, Chinese, Africans, Asian,
Jew, Muslim, etc.. We are made from every single nation (even the
French) and religion on the globe. If you know the religion, it is
practiced here. So, to further establish why I am able to completely
ignore your comment.... while the Jews have influence in Washington, so
do the Muslims, Budhists, Hindu, Christians, Shieks, etc .
We value or rights, and freedoms, and freedom of speech. We even
cherish the right to be dumb and ignorant. So, even you are free to
think or say whatever you imagine is appropriate - next time you go to
Iran, China, North Korea, Indonesia, Pakistan, or India..... just try
that trick. Free speech!

simple. We can argue all day about if the UN was empowered to
continue
inspections under the previous UN Resolutions, or not, and we can
argue
about if the President was empowered under the Constitution and the
same
UN Resolutions to invade Iraq. What we should not dispute is the
clear
hostility of the French to mount a contingent to visit Africa and
convince the likes of Chad to vote against the US.
The truth does NOT appear that Sadam "did not have WMD". He did.
The
truth is he did, and he used it violently against the Iraqi Kurds.
The
truth is that the U.N. knew that he had WMD, and as a result
implemented
sanctions and inspections to verify the destruction of. The truth
is
that many of the same nations on the U.N. Security Council violated
their own resolutions and traded with (and supplied WMD to) Iraq.
I'll
agree with you that many thousands of lives would have been saved -
had
the French acted responsibly in the interest of the world and people
of
Iraq. It was very likely that this war could have been avoided,
with
Sadam stepping down peacefully, had he not have the support of the
French to hold on.
Don't knock it guy the Americans have basically whole world including
the UN by the Balls. This time it did not work out. Talking about
weapons of mass destructions isn't it not America and Israel. How
many
more Wars will America Wage and then convince the world it is
absolute
necessarily. In the Case if France and Germany you people will play
dirty pool to get what you want. Nothing has chanced really you
instructions come from your Jewish masters.

Nonsense. America is looking out for her Constitutional interests.
Iraq and France was looking out for Sadam's interests. You may chose
to
conclude that our efforts have not worked out, that is your
conclusion -
however you arrive at that.
In spite of the mighty French and other Socialists anticipating the
demise and failure of America for her actions - guess what, 2 wars
have
been fought on the other side of the world, nearly back to back. The
U.S. economy has survived its recent problems, and is now growing in
spite of all nay-sayers the world over. Economy is great. Stock
market
is great. America is doing great - even the Democratic Presidential
candidates have changed their tune, now they play the emotional
rhetoric
about how the President is not considerate of Americans feelings.
Yes,
one could conclude that the French won a battle, as they ponder the
loss
of their war with us.
If you can somehow conjour that America is the evil one in the world,
then I don't know that I could see a bridge to help your intellect
problem. As for our instructions coming from the "Jewish masters"....
well come back when you know what you are talking about.
America is you (though you obviously hate it). This is what makes
your
statement so pointless.
So, to further establish why I am able to completely
ignore your comment.... while the Jews have influence in Washington,
so
do the Muslims, Budhists, Hindu, Christians, Shieks, etc .

Bush says U.S. will spend any amount to win war against
terrorism
Sep.
At this point most of us in Europe were agog. Is there no end to
the
man's
arrogance and stupidity? We told him to ***** in March. He
went
in
anyway. And now it's turning pear shaped he says we have a "duty"
and
"responsibility" to become involved in a war that we warned him
not
to
have
in the first place.
Oh, and he's open to financial contributions as well. I take it
we're not
all "irrelevent" anymore then?

Your problem in Europe began a long time ago. It hit critical
mass
recently when the EU was formed. At least the U.K. had sense
enough
to
not bend over for the French. Germany was Europe's largest and
strongest economy, and now they are barely able to qualify for
continued
EU membership as established by the French criteria.
What you see as arrogance, I see as conviction and leadership.
The
only arrogance I am aware of seems to reside in Paris. However, I
prefer to remain optimistic by presuming that it is just that the
French
are confused enough to think they are relevant. You in Europe do
have a
duty and responsibility. Europe shares the burden of enabling
Sadam
for
the past 12 years. France and Germany share the responsibility
for
trading (in violation) with Sadam and providing WMD over the past
12
years.
The fact that Europe sat on its ***** in the face of a threat that
they
(European control over the U.N.) were well aware of and helped to
produce, such that they engaged in some 14 pointless U.N.
Resolutions
and debates over the past 12 years, resulting in nothing but
allowing
Sadam to become an even greater threat, concern and challenge for
Inspectors Blix and Clusou, does in fact implicate Europe and
their
hand
in where we are today.
I presume the US also passed those same resolutions, so you being
slightly
hypocritical to lay the blame at Europe's door. And the simple fact
is that
Europe did not back away from military action, Europe simply didn't
think it
was the only course of action open at that time. The inspectors
should have
been allowed to continue with their work.
The truth appears to be that Saddam did not have WMD. As the
inspectors
would have discovered. And many thousands of lives would have been
saved.
Partially true and fair. Yes, the US did participate with the UN.
No,
I'm not being a hypocrite.... the blame is laid on France's door.
France had a simple task.... vote yes, no, or abstain. It is just

Yet some of you on this thread are willing to give up our freedoms,
demonstrate a lack of support for our Constitution to the whims and
necessities of these Socialists. However, what you say is not unlike
the freedoms of speech in France until you speak out against Muslims.
