After over 2,000 American casualties and untold US soldiers with
serious injuries;
After over 100,000 Iraqi civilian deaths during the war, and ongoing
instability and bombings ever since;
After what was once a sovereign state, now sliding into three-way
partition, continued foreign occupation, and a potential civil war;
After we have demonstrated our inability to keep the lights on in
Baghdad at night, and the water flowing in Iraqi faucets -- thus
increasing Iraqi anger and impatience with US and British occupation of
their country;
After one-by-one the "coalition partners" are bowing to the wisdom of
the public at home and withdrawing their troops from this poorly
conceived adventure;
After the trial of Saddam Hussein has been stalled due to our
unwillingness or inability to provide sufficient protection to the
defense legal team;
After British and American intelligence indicate that the invasion of
Iraq has greatly boosted recruitment for militant Islamist groups bent
on "terror" (asymmetric warfare);
After the spread of such asymmetric warfare to neighboring countries
such as Jordan;
After the CIA leaks have been traced right up to ***** Cheney's
office,
And not a shred of evidence of weapons of mass destruction can be
found;
After an over-extended US military, Army Reserves and National Guard
(the latter two of which were so preoccupied with Iraq that they were
unable to respond to hurricane Katrina);
After tens of billions in additional war spending strain an already
over-exhausted US federal budget;
And after sky-high oil and gas prices driven by speculation facilitated
by the war,
George W. Bush wants to make the war in Iraq an issue?
The only sensible reply is this:
"Bring it On!"
