Bush's Guest Worker Program Will Walmartize the American Middle Class |
Bush's Guest Worker Program will further erode the American Middle Class.
In high-tech, for example, an employer could advertize an engineering
job (requiring a four year degree) at minimum wage for two weeks, and if
no American took the job, could bring in a foreign worker to fill the spot.
And, it's not just high-tech that's at risk. Any job in America that's
not union or state regulated is at risk.
It's the 'Walmartization' of the American Middle Class, and it must be
stopped.
Here's an article on the subject for more detail:

Roy Beck, executive director of www.NumbersUSA.com provided an excellent
analysis of the Bush guest-worker proposal. His analysis becomes all the
more important since Presidente Fox seems to like
Bush's plan. Roy Beck said that, "Theoretically, no occupation in
America would be safe from being "globalized" down to the U.S. minimum
wage based on the even lower wages of the 4.5 billion people whose
average income is lower than Mexico’s."
Bush's guest-worker proposal will have profound effects on scientists,
programmers, and engineers. For the techies on this newsletter, be sure
to scroll down to the subtitle: "The misconception that our scientists,
engineers, computer programmers and other high-skilled professionals are
fully employed and well-paid."

Bush pushing for more foreign technical workers in the Untied States sure did
not help either. The President Brother Neil is making out like a thief in the
night. He gets big buchs helping to bring in more computer workers from China.
In high-tech, for example, an employer could advertize an engineering
job (requiring a four year degree) at minimum wage for two weeks, and if
no American took the job, could bring in a foreign worker to fill the spot.
False requirements for the job was exactly what companies did to get around the
last foreign workers program. Companies just stopped hiring expensive
Americans when the government was providing docile cheap coolies.
And, it's not just high-tech that's at risk. Any job in America that's
not union or state regulated is at risk.

Walmart has been caught breaking the child labor laws. I guess the fat cats
have really brought back the good old days of the child sweat shops.
