Bush's specific criteria for judging military deployments |
From The New York Times, 7/3/03:
http://www.nytimes.com/2003/07/03/international/africa/03CND-LIBE.html?pagewanted=2&hp
Mr. Bush has long been skeptical about using the military for
peacekeeping operations.
During the 2000 campaign, he set out specific criteria for judging
military deployments, and Mr. Fleischer said Wednesday that they
remained the president's guiding principles on the topic.
"The mission must be clear," Mr. Bush said during his second debate
with Al Gore in 2000.
"Soldiers must understand why are we going.
The force must be strong enough so that the mission can be
accomplished.
And the exit strategy needs to be well defined."

Bush is confused. First he wanted Osama Bin Laden. It appears Mr. Laden is
alive and well.
Next he went to war in Iraq to destroy Sadam Husseins Weapons of Mass
Destruction, so far he has not found any and he knows he wont find any. So
the war was renamed "Iraqi Freedom", pissing away a lot of taxpayers money.
Now he is slowly finding out that we are not welcome there. We can rest
assured that there will be cost overruns. He was not elected, he was
selected by some judges. So let us hope that in 2004 we have a clean
election, as in not floridated. May God help us if he stays for an other
term. Hope the democrats can come up with someone more intelligent. Perhaps
somebody with an IQ one standard deviation higher than this incumbent.
