The problem is too little government control not too much. Bush has
turned-over the economy to capitalists and they're taking everything they
can from it.

Both parties are bought. Diane Feinstein recently voted to increase
the H1-B visa quota to allow more cheap IT labor into the country, thus
putting more educated AMERICAN workers into Mcjobs. Democratic and
Republican politicians inside the Beltway are just Baby Boomers milking
the country for all it is worth so they can retire with nice fat
pensions, leaving the country in an economic and social dustbowl.
Well, what do they care how they leave the country for the next
generation...it is very little wonder that they are called the "Me"
generation.

This is true...they pay far too much. A flat tax or the "fair

That chart doesn't say what you think it says. Look again. It says the
richest in your country pay less than almost anyone else percentage wise.
The richest one percent take 33.7% of the money and pay only 16.1% in taxes.
The poorest take only 3.5% and pay 14.2% in taxes. The lower half of the top
fifty percent pay much more than the top 1%. You guys are being screwed and

"Fair" is more than arithmetic. It means more than merely paying a
disproportionate share of tax. "Fair" means paying what the community agree
is what they should pay regardless of its relationship their income.

Yeah, you're one of those "take from the rich" kinda guys.
That's why it has been said that Democracy won't last...because people
will realize they can vote to take money from other people.
You personify that mentality.

Exactly. Bush's economy is based on the wealthy getting richer.
You say that as if it's a bad thing.
It's bad when a Democracy's upper 3% of the Status Quo begin starving
people
over greed.
Oh, quit inventing things. Nobody's starving. And the rich
pay more than their share anyway -
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0923085.html
That chart doesn't say what you think it says. Look again. It says the
richest in your country pay less than almost anyone else percentage wise.
The richest one percent take 33.7% of the money and pay only 16.1% in taxes.
The poorest take only 3.5% and pay 14.2% in taxes. The lower half of the top
fifty percent pay much more than the top 1%. You guys are being screwed and
wankers like you support it.
You apparently need a lesson in reading a bar chart. For
instance, the top 1% of earners pays 33.7% of the taxes...you have
things *****-backwards.
Meanwhile I don't support the current system...it is far too
harsh on the rich. We need to go to the proposed "fair tax" system or
a flat tax system, IMO.
Are you saying that the top 1% struggle as much as the bottom 50% to
cover their taxes *AND* their bills?
Do you think our country would be better off if the tax burden were
further shifted away from the top 1% and into the remaining 99%? Do
you think this would lead to a higher standard of living for the
average American, or lower?

I think it would be fairer if people who had large incomes

Why take away the incentive to work hard by confiscating so
much of a person's earning? Another poster thought the "rich" should
pay even more.
For example, generally speaking, doctor's make large incomes.
However, before that happens, they work hard...probably putting in
arduous hours as interns and borrowing money to get through med
school.
The higher the taxes are on these large incomes, the less
people will be willing to put in the effort it takes to attain them.
I submit that if you want a high standard of health care,
which is part of your high standard of living, you don't want to
discourage people by taxing them to death.
The same principle applies to other fields of endeavor. IMO,
the "fair tax" as proposed in the book by N. Boortz or a flat tax is
fair for all concerned.

But the rich have made their money whilst having to pay these taxes. In
other words if they want $100 million they have to work even harder the more
tax they pay to get to that figure. Your argument is backwards. If
incentives what you want, you should tax them more as that will make them

taken for the goverment to arrive at a flat tax figure and still raise the
amount of revenue that they need?
