Those European countries have high gas prices because they levy enormous
taxes on fuel. The lesson to gain from this is not that Americans have it
too easy, but rather that socialism sucks.

Kerry should run an add with scenes from Mad Max, where Mel Gibson is
shooting gas stealing thugs with his shotgun as he drives down the
road in search of abandoned cars to get gas out of.
Then in a serious voice say, 'Is this the kind of world you want for
your kids?"

He could show housewives, nervously installing locks on their refrigerator
doors
Milk costs more per gallon than gasoline does, and kids drink a LOT of milk.
Kerry could claim he was "doing it for the children".
BTW, Kerry continues to OPPOSE bringing the cost of gasoline down by
reducing and/or eliminating federal and state gasoline taxes, so clearly
this is a "problem" that Kerry doesn't take very seriously.

Anyone with a car made after about 1979 has either a locking gas cap or
a locking door that prevents access to the gas cap and the tank by those
not authorized. I can only assume you've never seen a car made post

Not true. The last vehicle I owned that had a locking door to the fuel cap was
in 1987 Dodge Caravan. My 1997 Caravan does not have one. None of the 5-6
other cars I've bought over the last 10-15 years did either...even the 2004
Sebring I now have does not. So that is a incorrect statement.

The 1987 Caravan I spoke of also had a lever at the base of the drivers seat
inside the vehicle that opened the fuel access door. I guess since gas was
even more expensive than today (in terms of comparable dollars...not real
dollars), gas theft was actually a issue. Hmmmm.....
