You're invited to Just $6 (www.just6dollars.org) Campaign Finance
Reform events this month in San Francisco, Spokane, and Reno.
Just $6, founded by Americans for Campaign Reform, advocates the
public funding of House, Senate, and Presidential campaigns. If
Congress spent Just $6 per American citizen each year, they could
fully fund these highly popular federal elections. Publicly funded
campaigns would get rid of the influence special interests and
lobbyists have on elections, politicians, and policies. It would also
allow candidates who may not be great fundraisers to get their
policies to the national stage.
Our events will hopefully spark discussion among Americans about
campaign finance reform and bring some of our nation's leaders to the
forefront of the debate.
=B7 In San Francisco, former Senators Bill Bradley and Alan
Simpson will take a look at the impact of big money on the political
system as they discuss how money influences who runs for office, who
gets elected, and the ability of elected representatives to remain in
office.
=B7 In Spokane, Washington Clean Elections will provide a panel
discussion on how the connection between money and politics can be
reformed to make politics more responsive to the voters.
=B7 In Reno, Rob Werner (National Field Director for Americans
for Campaign Reform) will discuss the current debate surrounding
campaign finance reform and recent initiatives at the national and
state levels.
PLEASE JOIN US IN SAN FRANCISCO, SPOKANE, AND RENO!
