Cheney criticizes the Geneva Convention in Military Academy
commencement address
Michael Roston
Vice President ***** Cheney criticized the notion of applying the
Geneva Convention to individuals captured in the course of the war on
terrorism in a Saturday commencement address at the United States
Military Academy in West Point, New York.
_____________________________________________________
As a student in the 1960s during the Vietnam War, Cheney received five
student deferments from the military draft.
What is intriguing about this utterly uncharismatic, efficient,
hawkish Vice President is the fact that he never served in the
armed forces.
He says that he was generally supportive of the Vietnam war and
opposed to the demonstrators.
But his hawkishness didn't lead him to volunteer; instead he accepted
student deferments which allowed him to avoid military service.
All Cheney will say is, "As did most other Americans, I watched the
war from afar."
There remains something odd about this hard-line Cold Warrior's
evasion of what would seem to be his patriotic duty.

Really good Harry, still cutting and pasting without an original
thought? I'm not crazy about Cheney or Bush but we are never going to
correct things with the sphincter muscle around the neck. Lets see,
the head of NASA has never been to space, the guy in charge of General
Motors never built a car and the Harry the paster is anti Bush but
can't seem to come up with an original spin on any subject, hence; he
cuts and pasts, everything... Should we look at Bill Clinton's war
record? Can't, he don't have one. He actually committed a felony in
avoiding the draft. He was pardoned by yet another chicken *****
president. He took us to war in kosovo against the UN's wishes to
save what. Muslims. Boy that one worked out well. sic. We could
talk about about what the Dems have coming down the line. Lets see,
Hillrys war record; oh yeah, she skates on that one. She will
probably turn the military over to Bill who cut Billions out of a
peace time military budget. Oh yes, he was also the man in charge
when we were hit 5, count em, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 times by terrorists. Who
else, Osama? Yeah I can see him getting tuff with "Moslem"
terrorists. He didn't vote for war when %90 of the free world
thought Saddam had WMD's. Of course poison gas isn't a WMD if your
discussing with democraps. That was Channel #5 Saddam used. Who
else? Oh yeah, the dems got a guy who already has plans to cover the
interior of the White House with mirrors so he can admire himself..
Now the repubs don't have any room to talk, they just want the rich to
get richer, that is pretty simple.
Tell me somebody who isn't a thief and a liar that is running for
president. The repubs found George Bush under a rock at the deep end
of a cess pool but the democrats keep digging through the feces that
was under the scum that was under the rock on the deep end of the cess
pool, and out crawled the Clinton's and the like. Why is it so many
past witnesses to that land deal the Clinton's were involved it are
ending up dead? Better be careful harry, keep your enemies close and
your friends closer (and in front of you).

Do you mean Obama?

thought Saddam had WMD's.

No - Saddam did not have any WMD as you must well know by now. The only
'chemical weapons' [sic] that have been found in Iraq are a small cache of
decayed 150mm mustard (not Sarin as was first claimed by FoxNews) gas
artillery shells that your own US senior intelligence officials, including
Lt. Gen. Michael D. Maples, director of the Defense Intelligence Agency,
admitted were made well before the 1991 Gulf war and were not usable.
Why lie about it? - it just blows your credibility on everything else.
However it comes as no surprise to 'the free world' outside the US that even
now there are a significant percentage of Americans who *still* choose to
believe that they are out there somewhere, despite nothing ever having been
found after 5 years of looking. US opinion analysts describe this phenomena
as "opinion being independent of reality" or "cognitive dissonance".
In Europe we call it '***** swallowing' or "Believing is seeing".
"......A striking finding in the new PIPA/Knowledge Networks poll is that
many Americans are unaware that weapons of mass destruction have not been
found in Iraq. While 59% of those polled correctly said the US has not found
Iraqi weapons of mass destruction, 41% said they believed that the US has
found such weapons (34%) or were unsure (7%). Steven Kull, director of PIPA,
comments: "For some Americans, their desire to support the war may be
leading them to screen out information that weapons of mass destruction have
not been found. Given the intensive news coverage and high levels of public
attention to the topic, this level of misinformation suggests that some
Americans may be avoiding having an experience of cognitive dissonance....."
Bush is the terrorist recruiter's best friend and all you seventeen
percenters with your heads up your arses are just as responsible.
By the way - the 90% figure is a complete lie too - so obviously a lie that
I'll leave it up to you to do your own research as to what the real figures
were. Just thought I'd mention that.

Yet the jackasses here have no problem with this dichotomy. It must be
because they are chickenhawks without a sense of honor too. Instead, they
attack those who avoided Vietnam on principle, but applaud the cowards who
cheered the war while hiding behind trees (and the Texas Air National
Guard).
