Chirac lashes out against US cultural domination

French President Jacques Chirac warned Thursday of a "catastrophe" for
global diversity if the United States' cultural hegemony goes
unchallenged.
Speaking at a French cultural center in Hanoi ahead of Friday's
opening of a summit of European and Asian leaders, Chirac said France
was right to stand up for cultural and linguistic diversity.
The outspoken French president warned that the world's different
cultures could be "choked" by US values.
This, he said, would lead to a "general world sub-culture" based
around the English language, which would be "a real ecological
catastrophe".
Citing Hollywood's stranglehold over the film industry as an example,
Chirac stressed that only with government assistance could countries
maintain their cultural heritage.
Vietnam is a former French colony, but only around 375,000 of its 81
million people speak French. English is considered by most people a
far more valuable and practical second language, particularly among
businessmen.

AP and UPI reported yesterday that French President Chirac announced he has
raised the terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher
levels in France are "Surrender" and "Collaborate." The raise in terror
alert levels was precipitated by the recent fire which destroyed one of the
French white flag factories, disabling their military.

What threat level was in operation on US carriers as helicopters were pushed
into the sea to make space for all the heroic winners of the Viet Nam war
trying to get home?

certainly strained the US economy, while bankrupting that of the USSR,
Germany, France, and other nations in what is now the EU were getting
more wealthy, and building their militaries.
France has a stealthy cruise missile. It also has the World's
stealthiest operational warships. It has a stealth fighter that is
more capable than anything the US has in service. It has new
air-to-air missiles for those fighters. And it isn't just France
either, it's also Germany that is building, and Britain. Normally, I
wouldn't worry about Britain, since Britain does not normally
collaborate with terrorists, but ever since they became part of the
EU, they may well be dragged along into doing what France and Germany
want to, which it seems is to bankrupt the US.

You can't just cherry-pick out a couple of states on this issue, County
Road 66. It's the entire EU that has the Euro in stiff competition with
the dollar. And they seem to be making some progress in that direction:
current exchange is 1 Euro = 1.2290 Dollar. Some say it's the hughe
national debt that is pulling the dollar down.

Thats really funny. Almost all sites that track military size and strength
of nations shows France and Germany having negative growth in the -20-30
range over the last 10 years.

That's what he mean when he said stealth. Their stuff is as
stealthy as the Kings new clothing. The social programs that
the EU carries means that they don't have the money for
defense. In fact, they are finding that they don't even have
the money to continue supporting all of their social give aways.
