In April, Doolittle's Okton, Va home was searched by the FBI as a part
of a widening corruption probe into those with close ties to Abramoff,
now in federal prison on an array of fraud and conspiracy charges
related to his work on behalf of his Indian tribe clients.
A day after the search was revealed by the press, Doolittle
relinquished his seat on the powerful House Appropriations Committee,
which oversees federal spending requests.

California GOP Congressman Remains In Prosecutors' Cross-Hairs
Christopher Rizo
Washington, D.C. (AHN)-
Rep. Jon Doolittle (R-CA) continues to be the focus of the U.S.
Justice Department, as federal investigators probe the California
Republican's dealings with jailed GOP lobbyist Jack Abramoff.
Abramoff, who was a Doolittle campaign contributor, allowed Doolittle
the use of a luxury sports box that he paid for, which the Northern
California congressman did not initially report.
More than that, federal officials have been puzzled by payments
Abramoff's firm made to Doolittle's wife by way of her company, Sierra
Dominion Financial Solutions Inc.
Authorities are also probing the $37 million in federal funds that
Doolittle secured for a military contractor that allegedly bribed
former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, now jailed.
