Criminals Control the Executive Branch |
Criminals Control the Executive Branch
By Paul Craig Roberts
Gentle reader, you are probably unaware of former National Security Adviser
Zbigniew Brzezinski's damning indictment of the Bush Regime in his testimony
before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on February 1, 2007, as the
United States no longer has a media--only a government propaganda ministry.
02/09/07 "ICH' -- -- Brzezinski damned the Bush Regime's war in Iraq as "a
historic, strategic, and moral calamity." Brzezinski damned the war as
"driven by Manichean impulses and imperial hubris." He damned the war for
"intensifying regional instability" and for "undermining America's global
legitimacy."
Finally, a voice with weight speaks. Brzezinski is a real intellect, a real
expert, unlike the political hacks who have followed him in the office.
Brzezinski told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that "the final
destination on this downhill track is likely to be a head-on conflict with
Iran and with much of the world of Islam." Brzezinski predicts "some
provocation in Iraq or a terrorist act in the U.S. blamed on Iran;
culminating in a 'defensive' U.S. military action against Iran that plunges
a lonely America into a spreading and deepening quagmire eventually ranging
across Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan."
There is something deadly wrong with a society and a political system that
permits a Regime capable of such insane and criminal "leadership" to remain
in power. By the time Hitler launched World War II, the German Reichstag had
no power to prevent him. But we have not yet reached that point in the
United States.
Brzezinski concludes his testimony with the statement that it is "time for
the Congress to assert itself."
The reasons for impeaching Bush and Cheney exceed by many multiples all the
reasons for impeaching every president combined in US history. The reasons
have been enumerated many times and do not need repeating. If members of
Congress were faithful to their oaths of office to uphold the Constitution,
Bush and Cheney would already have been impeached and convicted.
The very least Congress can do at this very late stage is to make it
perfectly clear in no uncertain terms that any attack on Iran under any
pretext without the authorization of Congress after a careful examination of
the pretext will lead to the immediate removal of Bush and Cheney from
power, as will any escalation of the war in Iraq without explicit
authorization by Congress.
Having delivered this ultimatum, Congress must immediately begin
investigations of the Bush Regime's attack on civil liberties and the
separation of powers, on the Bush Regime's use of lies and deception to lead
America into a war with Iraq, on the Bush Regime's violation of the Geneva
Conventions, and on the Bush Regime's plans to attack Iran.
The American people and their representatives in Congress must face the fact
that criminal and dictatorial persons control executive power in the United
States and immediately rectify this highly dangerous situation.

The "Clash of Civilizations" theory, developed by Harvard professor-turned
President Jimmy Carter's National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski and
his protégés, including Harvard Prof. Samuel Huntington, defined the Arab
and Islamic world as an "arc of crisis" from the Middle East to the Islamic
countries of Central Asia in the then-Soviet Union. Brzezinski wanted to
use the "Islamic card" against the Soviet Union, and in so doing, began the
policy of promoting Islamic fundamentalists against moderate and
pro-Western Arab and Islamic governments. After the end of the Cold War,
the Brzezinski/Huntington crowd updated their "arc of crisis," declaring
that the Islamic religion is the enemy, in a new war in which religions,
rather than political systems, inevitably battle each other. However,
trained by British and U.S. special intelligence services and the CIA, and
armed by Israeli military networks, the very terrorist drug-runners in the
Islamic world who were launched by Brzezinski and "adopted" by the
Iran-Contra networks run by Lt. Col. Oliver North, under the elder George
Bush's Executive Order 12333, have become the main suspects in terrorist
attacks against the United States.

Zbigniew Brzezinski:
How Jimmy Carter and I Started the Mujahideen
Interview of Zbigniew Brzezinski Le Nouvel Observateur (France), Jan 15-21,
1998, p. 76*
Q: The former director of the CIA, Robert Gates, stated in his memoirs
["From the Shadows"], that American intelligence services began to aid the
Mujahadeen in Afghanistan 6 months before the Soviet intervention. In this
period you were the national security adviser to President Carter. You
therefore played a role in this affair. Is that correct?
Brzezinski: Yes. According to the official version of history, CIA aid to
the Mujahadeen began during 1980, that is to say, after the Soviet army
invaded Afghanistan, 24 Dec 1979. But the reality, secretly guarded until
now, is completely otherwise: Indeed, it was July 3, 1979 that President
Carter signed the first directive for secret aid to the opponents of the
pro-Soviet regime in Kabul. And that very day, I wrote a note to the
president in which I explained to him that in my opinion this aid was going
to induce a Soviet military intervention.
Q: Despite this risk, you were an advocate of this covert action. But
perhaps you yourself desired this Soviet entry into war and looked to
provoke it?
Brzezinski: It isn't quite that. We didn't push the Russians to intervene,
but we knowingly increased the probability that they would.
Q: When the Soviets justified their intervention by asserting that they
intended to fight against a secret involvement of the United States in
Afghanistan, people didn't believe them. However, there was a basis of
truth. You don't regret anything today?
Brzezinski: Regret what? That secret operation was an excellent idea. It had
the effect of drawing the Russians into the Afghan trap and you want me to
regret it? The day that the Soviets officially crossed the border, I wrote
to President Carter: We now have the opportunity of giving to the USSR its
Vietnam war. Indeed, for almost 10 years, Moscow had to carry on a war
unsupportable by the government, a conflict that brought about the
demoralization and finally the breakup of the Soviet empire.
Q: And neither do you regret having supported the Islamic [integrisme],
having given arms and advice to future terrorists?
Brzezinski: What is most important to the history of the world? The Taliban
or the collapse of the Soviet empire? Some stirred-up Moslems or the
liberation of Central Europe and the end of the cold war?
Q: Some stirred-up Moslems? But it has been said and repeated: Islamic
fundamentalism represents a world menace today.
Brzezinski: Nonsense! It is said that the West had a global policy in regard
to Islam. That is stupid. There isn't a global Islam. Look at Islam in a
rational manner and without demagoguery or emotion. It is the leading
religion of the world with 1.5 billion followers. But what is there in
common among Saudi Arabian fundamentalism, moderate Morocco, Pakistan
militarism, Egyptian pro-Western or Central Asian secularism? Nothing more
than what unites the Christian countries.
* There are at least two editions of this magazine; with the perhaps sole
exception of the Library of Congress, the version sent to the United States
is shorter than the French version, and the Brzezinski interview was not
included in the shorter version.

Do you expect a Red Book carrying Neo-Commie like "Defendario" to be
concerned about a small fact like this?

You are giving too much moral credit to Zpig. Here is insight. Clinton
knows that al Qaeda is a hoax. Clinton knows UBL didn't have anything to
do with 9/11. Clinton is a life member of the Bush Mob. So what is he
doing here?
