Tom DeLay Resigns. What Does Fox Do? Duh - Bash Democrats!
Here's how Fox spun the news of Tom DeLay's resignation today (April 4,
2006) on Your World w/Neil Cavuto (49 minutes into the show, I might add):
Cavuto said this over video of students rioting in Paris:
All right. Tom DeLay dropping out of his house race and resigning from
congress. By the way, he's going to be with me live tomorrow during a
special program we're planning from Washington, D.C. Democrats calling
DeLay's resignation more evidence that the GOP is out of ideas and out of
energy. We're going to play this out. If this further weakens the Grand Old
Party, and Democrats sweep the mid-term elections, will they increase taxes
and entitlements and if so, is this a glimpse of the future - [video of
rioting French students] - violent protests like what we've been witnessing
in France these last few days because its citizens were given cradle to
grave entitlements that can't be sustained long-term?
A graphic appeared over Cavuto's shoulder: "We're Next?"
Then Cavuto introduced the "crew" from Bulls & Bears, a Saturday morning
"financial" show that's part of Fox's "Cost of Freedom" lineup.
The three "Bulls & Bears" guys - Tobin Smith, Scott Bleier and Gary B.
Smith - laid it on thick. According to the boys, Democrats want "higher
taxes," they're "generally against free trade," they want "more
unionization," and "more government control over the economy." We'll get
"high unemployment..slow growth." Democrats "like to promote social programs
and bash business." You "can't bash the rich and expect to have a good
economy." Democrats say, "Hey, we're smarter than you. Give us all your
money and we'll spend it." We "really" have to "worry about socialized
medicine" and if "you want to turn out like France, put the Democrats in
power."
Comment: Guess they ran out of time - they didn't mention Bill or Hill.

Um, didn't we have EIGHT YEARS of prosperity during Democrat Clinton's
presidency? And didn't those numbers start going south THE MINUTE that
Republican Bushie took office?
Question: If raising taxes is "bad," and lowering taxes is "good," how
come nobody ever lowers taxes to ZERO?

Actually, the downturn started before that ...
Actually, the economy was still growing when Clinton left office.
Question: If raising taxes is "bad," and lowering taxes is "good," how

Yeah, those mean old Democrats stooped to using things like 'The truth' and
'Facts' to bring down DeLay. How dare they?
