Democrats hope to use Harris Senate bid for governor's race boost

MIAMI -
Republican U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris' entry into the U.S. Senate race
may be particularly welcomed by a group of Democrats - the three
running for governor.
Democrats are hoping that the former Florida secretary of state will
be a motivating factor for Democrats who haven't forgotten her role in
the 2000 presidential election, the one that President Bush won by 537
votes after the Supreme Court stopped five weeks of recounts and
challenges.
If Harris does inspire Democrats to turn out to support incumbent
Democrat Bill Nelson, they'll also vote for the Democratic nominee for
governor, the argument goes.
