Did You Know? - Hillary Spent 6 Years on Wal Mart Board of Directors |

In 1986, Sam Walton, the founder of Wal-Mart, had a problem. He was
under growing pressure from shareholders — and his wife, Helen — to
appoint a woman to the company’s 15-member board of directors.
So Mr. Walton turned to a young lawyer who just happened to be married
to the governor of Arkansas, where Wal-Mart is based: Hillary Rodham
Clinton.
Mrs. Clinton’s six-year tenure as a director of Wal-Mart, the nation’s
largest company, remains a little known chapter in her closely
scrutinized career. And it is little known for a reason. Mrs. Clinton
rarely, if ever, discusses it, leaving her board membership out of her
speeches and off her campaign Web site.

It was Chevron, not exxon, but i know what you mean. Condi has been on
the BOD of lots of big companies and she has caught hell for it. So too
should hillary the corporatist. Being on the BOD is not a job.

And in the spirit of "He did it too", Cheney and Halliburton have a history
of collusion. You didn't seem to have a problem with that connection when
you voted for Bush-Cheney.

Well, if we ar going to solve the increasing problems with providing
health care in this country, we are going to have to get Wal Mart on
board and supporting it, so this is probably an asset for her if she
still maintains any relationships with existing board members, which
she probably does.

That's not the issue. Hillary is a corporatist and that should be held
against her. We need leaders who have had real jobs. Like Ron Paul who
used to be a doctor.

Ron Paul, like Dr. Frist, is not a doctor that is going to make the
patient, the US, well. He is paid shill for the medical insurance industry.

"Congress needs to craft innovative legislation that makes health care
more affordable without raising taxes or increasing the deficit."
"While many in Congress are happy to criticize HMOs today, the public
never hears how the present system was imposed upon the American people
by federal law."
Ron Paul solutions are a neo-liberalist's pipe dream of uncontrolled
private industry stepping in a doing job, because we can all trust
private industry to look out for us.
HR 3075 tax credit so rich families can buy insurance
HR 3076 can't sue doctors anymore
HR 3077 $500 per child tax credit (we are about the only country on the
planet that does not provide health care for its children).
HR 3078 destroy Social Security.
