DNA of Ramsey murder suspect fails to match: report

A DNA sample from John Mark Karr, the key suspect in the notorious
murder of six-year old JonBenet Ramsey, does not correspond with DNA
traces found at the crime scene, a local television station reported.
Denver's KUSA cited two unnamed sources for the report, which if
confirmed would call into question Karr's claim to have committed the
1996 murder of the young beauty queen.
US authorities have yet to comment on the television report.
Karr, 41, was arrested in Thailand on August 16 on a California
warrant over charges of possessing child pornography.
He reportedly confessed to Thai police that he had murdered the child
almost ten years ago in a lurid crime case that transfixed much of the
country for years.
At his extradition hearing last week in California, a judge advised
Karr that he faced charges of first-degree felony murder, kidnapping
and sexual assault on a child in Colorado.
Karr was transferred from California to the western state of Colorado
last week.

You'd think it would've been cheaper to mail back a DNA sample to the
lab than to tramp him all the way across the ocean and half a continent.
OTOH, he does seem to be a dangerous individual who is wanted for some
serious crimes besides the ones involving JonBenet Ramsey.

They can potentially exclude you in only a few days. It takes longer to
make sure you are the DNA doner.

The real idiots in this are the Colorado investigators... again. They
only had the tip about Karr for 4-5 days before ordering his arrest on
murder charges, and began hauling him all the way from Thailand. It
became apparent to many of us that Karr was probably not a likely
suspect, just from news reports the very day they started this process,
but the investigators didn't do much investigating. Reminds me of how
they spent five years trying to convice everyone that the Ramseys did
it, and there were no other suspects. This group appears to be about
as competent as the Bush regime.

I wouldn't be surprize if the Bushies tampered with the DNA evidence to
spring Karr. The repugs can always use someone like him for dirty trick
duty in the elections. He fits the profile.

That's weird because i heard that Karr was going to be running mates
with Wesley Clark in 2008.

Karr that he faced charges of first-degree felony murder, kidnapping
and sexual assault on a child in Colorado.
Karr was transferred from California to the western state of Colorado
last week.
Looks like he conned everyone into a free plane ride back to
the U.S.
Well he is wanted for child porn in Ca.
How do they intend to prove jurisdiction? Wasn't the child
porn found in Thailand?
He has a history in Ca. He is also wanted for different crimes in
Thailand.
Is it within the statute of limitations? When was he last in
California prior to the few days he spent there enroute to
Colorado?
Sonoma County, 2001.
Can't you find things out for yourself instead of asking inane
questions on Usenet?

There is a December 2001 warrant from December 2001.
