Object: DOW up another 140 today; DNC election strategy in tatters
With the DOW up another 140 points today, the indications are clear that the
Clinton Recession is over and the economy is now rebounding nicely under
President Bush's economic leadership. While this is of course good news for
America and the American People, it is bad news for the Democrat Party,
which had hoped to whine and moan about how "bad" the economy is. Thus the
DNC election strategy for the 2004 elections is now in complete disarray.

That would be wonderful news if we all based our existence on one day's
rise in the stock market.
During the last 3 quarters of 1999, the DOW was higher than it is now.
The market tends to rise or fall about 1% during a day.

This year if you invested in a Total Stock market Indexed fund you would be
up 23.41%. Hardly a fluctuation.

But we don't do that. Instead, we "base our existence" on the fact that the
DOW has been rising steadily for about 9 months now under President Bush's
economic leadership. And as the DOW continues to rise, the DNC's election
strategy becomes more and more tattered......

True to her drunken form, Barb Walker thinks that a 140 point gain in
the DOW will erase the over 3 million jobs lost under Bush.

Does this mean that the 3 1/2 million who lost their jobs in the past two years
are now happily employed or have they simply exhausted their unemployment
benefits?
A jobless recovery is no recovery at all. A real economic recovery can only be
measured in job growth and not simply based on consumer debt and spikes in the
stock market due to companies moving to China or outsourcing jobs to India in
order to take advantage of cheap labor. They may be showing a profit in this
quarter but the more jobs that are lost in America as a result of these actions
will eventually result in the destruction of the US economy. It's no longer
just the manufacturing
jobs that are being exported to developing countries in order to take advantage
of cheap labor, high tech jobs leaving the US is skyrocketing. The tax cuts to
the wealthy did help create jobs, unfortunately the jobs that were created are
in China and India.

Bush does have some problems in '04, that do include:
1) The Bush Economic Strategy : A picture of a dismal failure.
The Bush recession. Do all the spin you want here, but the Republicans
were in charge at
the start of it, during the middle of it, and at the end of it. Most
economists see
what he's done as slowing the overall recovery and damaging long range
prospects
for growth.
Just look at the tax increase Bush sneaked through congress. For every
child born
in America, it's up to 24,000$ to cover the cost of his military
adventures in Iraq.
Do Americans feel better off today, than they did at the start of the Bush
administration? Most now answer no.
Further, Americans are starting to see through Bush's phony 'tax
rebates'. If
you're in deficit spending hole, as Bush is, any money you give back just
adds to the money the taxpayer will have to repay later. It's like borrowing
against your credit card - you still owe the money.
And, what is he talking about for '04? Why, more tax cuts.
You only really get a tax cut, if you reduce spending, which Bush certainly
has not done.
2) Bush's strategy in Iraq : Another picture of a dismal failure.
How many more Americans must die to protect the obscene profits Bush
is kicking back to Halliburton, and other companies in 'no bid' sweet heart
deals?
Did the invasion reduce the number of terrorists worldwide? No, it increased
the number of terrorists worldwide. Doonsbury had it right; they've created
'rummy-world' over there. It'd be funny if Americans weren't dying.
The longer we stay, the more they hate us. We can see that now.
3) Bush's No Child Left Behind Education Strategy : A total dismal failure.
The Houston miracle? Na. It's come out that the school system was corruptly
reporting 'results' in the first place. This didn't bother Bush none
though, he
went ahead and implemented it nationwide.
Now, the truth is catching up with what he's done, and the picture is
not pretty.
4) Bush and his Clear Skies Environmental Package: An excuse to increase
pollution.
The numbers are in here, and under Bush's plan, atmospheric filth from every
industrial polluter can increase by at least 50%, or even double in some
cases.
Cough, gack, cough....
5) Bush protects the military: Well, it's come out as only spin - a big lie.
It seems he's tried to cut military pay, and gut veterans benefits - and
Bush has tried to do so during a time of war.
Shame, shame, shame on him...
6) Domestic Security : Another Bush failure.
How can we increase and at least keep our freedom when the Bush
administration is trying to take it away with the Patriot-Act-II, under
which
he has proposed to be given the right to strip any American of their
citizenship,
and then just arrest them without trial and hold them forever in a dark
hole.
Sounds like some sort of Russian Gulag - only, whoa baby, it would happen
here in America, under Bush, if he could get away with it.
---
And Bush has the unmitigated gaul to try to blame the Democrats for his
troubles.
Bush's only trouble is that Poppy won't be able to bail him out this time -
like he has in the past every time when every thing Bush Jr. touched has
turned to s..t.
