Draft 2 of "the Read the Bills Act of 2005" (RTBA) is
now available online at
www.DownsizeDC.org
The RTBA legislation is already being reviewed by one
Congressional office, and could be sent to all 435
members of the House and 100 members of the Senate as
early as next week, depending on support from DC
Downsizers. To contribute to this effort click here:
http://www.downsizedc.org/contribute.shtml
The roster of the Legislative Sponsors of RTBA has
also been updated, and the first roster of the
members of RTBA's Submission Committee has also been
posted here:

If you would like to contribute to join this
Submission Committee click here:

If you want to read Draft 2 of RTBA you can do so
here:

A word of warning - Draft 2 is not so easy a read as
Draft 1. This is because Draft 2 is much, much
stronger. In particular, a requirement that Congress
read legislation when it comes up for renewal under
the sunset provisions has made the text of RTBA more
complicated. But this is a good thing, because this
provision will help Downsize DC.
We are very close to starting to campaign for RTBA.
All we need is more members of the Submission
Committee. The rules for membership are as follows:
* A contribution of any size will get your name on
the Committee
* If you prefer anonymity, just let us know using our
secure online contribution form.
* Members will be listed, in order, by the size of
their contribution
* Current monthly pledgers, or those who start a
monthly pledge, will be listed according to the
annual (x12) value of their monthly pledge.
* The top donor will win the "John Hancock" position
at the top of the Submission Committee roster.
Let's submit RTBA to Congress and start raising a
ruckus. The sooner you respond with your
contribution, the sooner the fun will start.
Thank you for your support,
Jim Babka

you can print out the page and use it as a mail-in
form, if you prefer. Don't delay, let's get this bill
in the hands of Congress ASAP.
