WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- In a dramatic parliamentary turn that
infuriated top Republicans, Senate Democrats on Tuesday forced the
chamber into a closed session to discuss the indictment of
White House aide I. Lewis Libby and the Bush administration's
handling of pre-Iraq war intelligence.
"It is clear now that the American people were not informed
properly before the invasion of Iraq. Intelligence information
was distorted, was misused, and we have seen as late as last
week the lengths which this administration has gone to try to
silence and discredit their critics of the misuse of this
intelligence information," Sen. Richard Durbin, D-Ill., told
reporters.
"This is an affront to me personally. It's an affront to our
leadership. It's an affront to the United States of America.
And it is wrong," Frist told reporters outside the Senate chamber.
Visibly angry, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn.,
complained that Democrats broke with precedent by not
informing Republicans of their intentions. He derided the move
as a "pure stunt."

Doc Fristenstein has been known to take polls off of his website if they
don't get the results he desires. He did that back in Nov. 2003 during the
Republican "whine-a-thon" about Dems filibustering a few of the Chimperor's
federal court appointments.
