TAMPA, Fla. - Police in Tampa, Florida, are looking for a man they say
tried to run over his ex-girlfriend with his pickup, but ended up
killing a two-year-old boy instead.
Police say Derrick McNeal fled after yesterday's crash, leaving his
red Dodge pickup behind.
They say McNeal saw his ex-girlfriend sitting outside a friend's house
and tried to run her over. Instead, they say, McNeal hit a car, drove
over a fence and through the yard, and hit two children, killing one
of them.
The girlfriend was slightly injured by the oncoming truck.
Police are searching for McNeal, who's wanted for first-degree murder
and attempted first-degree murder.
McNeal was previously wanted on charges including aggravated stalking.
